My car's EC Type-approval, Type (UKL-L) and manufacturing date match with those listed for the 2 air-bag related recalls

I've just rung my dealer's service department and they state there are no recalls for my vehicle

Don't know where I go from here...accept what they tell me or contact BMW UK customer services perhaps?

I contacted the BMW dealer in Malta also, and they told me that my car is not effected. I am not sure if I should believe it or not as my vehicle was manufactured in May 2016 and should be effected according to those documents.

Thanks for the information

Of the four recalls applicable to the F48 X1, 3 are post my build date (and hence my VIN is not in any of the ranges listed) and 1 is applicable to my build date, but luckily my VIN is not in the ranges specified.

Look like my dealer was correct - no recall for my car....so far

Crapola. Got home yesterday from a weekend away to find a recall letter waiting for me.

Potential airbag issue.

Anyone else?

Coding data? Any more deets on this?

I'm on a October 2016 build...

I might ask them to have a look at the DAB. Randomly fails to find any stations... which annoys me no end.

Yep. Mine is an October 16 delivered car. Booked in for the 7th for 2 days. (Allowing time if work needed)

I'll be telling them if the dash is removed / replaced they better test drive it & ensure it is creak & squeak free as it is currently or I'll not be handing the loan car back.

Ah, dealer told me this coding is to do with the dashboard swap out as they need to code new clocks if swapped.

Mine was in yesterday for the passenger airbag recall and coding or is it software update - whatever. All done but they needed my car for the full day. Collected late last night from the sales staff so no word on what they actually did to the car - I wonder if it needed a new dashboard and the clock updated???? I'll ring them this morning and update you all later.

No dashboard, just a coding update so a day without my car for virtually nothing - well certainly not noticeable to me.

Better than a dash swap imho & the potential ill fitting of a replacement one.

My bimmer goes in Monday.

They have stated they may need the car for up to 3 days - hopefully not.

And hopefully no action required either.

Car was in for about 6 hours and had a nice 420d M Sport to drive around ... all too briefly
