As a German, I can tell you we love minimalism and a clean design. Germans love a sleeper that doesn't give off its hand right away.
This vehicle looks cheap and loud like an attention seeking girl at a club with 10lbs of make up on and sequins and glitter all over.
I read your entire post in a German accent.

Step 3) Use those profits to continue to produce cars like the M line-up, which honestly, have very little direct business case for producing.

And yes, I recognize that BMW's brand is built on the "cars for drivers" image, but every time I get to thinking that this means they actually need to build drivers cars, I'm reminded of the survey wherein 90% of 1-series owners had no idea their car was RWD. I also have to look across the aisle to Audi, where I see FWD and FWD-based AWD cars selling like crazy.

Finally, I have to look at myself and recognize that for our household, an X3 was a fantastic purchase. The wife prefers the higher seating position when compared to a wagon, and I don't find the driving dynamics completely abhorrent.

In short, don't be a whiney little brat. So far, BMW keeps producing the cars we want. M2 anyone? The X line-up isn't dilution, it's funding. It's the funding that keeps the dream alive.

I like some aspects but to be frank it could have been designed by any South Korean or Japanese manufacturer. It's not got the unique styling of say a Evoque when that was launched

not enough of a kink on the side and upside down kidney grills. This concept looks very korean designed.

i do like the blue light x design in the headlights. That would be nice to see on the production model.

did he really say the logo on the d-pillar is unique? i hope they remove that for the production version, we dont need 4 roundels on the car itself and then another 4 for the wheels.

I like the look except for...

1. Upside down kidney grills
2. Geometric headlight and headlight angle eyes
3. The M1 placement of the BMW rondels on the rear, reminds me of people that put a M or AMG logo in front of a 3 number car, e.g. ///M 435i
4. Lower Jeep looking rear

Hope they...

1. Make the front end smooth and don't force the license plate cut out on everyone
2. Put the BMW roundels where they belong, looked out of place on M1 as it does here
3. Do something with that Jeep looking rear

I honestly don't think M sport kit makes all BMWs look better. for example, I much prefer standard body on the X1, 4 series, and 6 series. I feel like M sport kit make these cars look too "plasticky" and make them look cheaper with less details. I do love M sport kit on: 2 series, 3 series, 5 series, 7 series, z4, X5, X6 etc...

the real ///M cars are definitely lot better looking over the base and Msport however...

I absolutely dislike the "Batman Joker looking grin" on the front of the new BMWs. They need to stop messing w/standard BMW features, front middle bumper (M cars make this a prominent feature), angel eyes, kidney grills, rear side windows.

Honestly this is a wagon disguised as a fugly crossover SUV. . . Bring on the real wagon angles and put some effort into making them look better instead of trying to hide them under unnecessary frumpy crossover curves!

I'm not the target market but I like the overall idea. Reminds me of the Range Rover Evoque. Given the space and the market for this size vehicle I suspect it will sell well, as is the X1....

IMHO, the X1 front end proportions are messed up. Everything in front of the windshield is too long for the height. BMW needs to read about the golden rectangle. I don't see this same problem w/the X2

All smaller SAV/SUVs are wagons w/o the trunk space.

The plastic cladding are forever ugly, especially since these live in a concrete jungle

I disagree I think it's old-school. It makes it look not like everything else on the market, cool branding!

I do not like the two-tone bottom skirts that makes it look like a Subaru, keep it one exterior body color.

They are hatchbacks with a 1" lift. Sadly in the US we don't get any of the good hatchbacks.
