991 911 Turbo (non-S) vs. AMG GT (non-S)

My predictions were right. The King is still the King. First the Turbo S handily beats the Speciale and now the basic turbo shows AMG they still cant compete despite the target they aimed at the turbo.

New AMG GT looks amazing. Would glady take the AMG interior, V8 exhaust note, rear wheel drive, rarity(compared to the large amount 911's on the road), in exchange for 1.8secs on a track. Honestly couldn't give two sh*ts if some pro driver can squeeze a little more time out of the awd platform. Sounds like they really like the AMG GT. Kudos to Benz.

You still haven't answered why you switched screen names Wolf.

Turbo S handily beats the GT3 and Speciale, what is the point to that. Different philosophies in cars. And the so-called "basic" Turbo cost more than the AMG GT.

Those benz seats are the same ones that are found in a CLA and C AMG's, along with the steering wheel.. For that price, id want those two important items to be a tad different for such a big value difference.

Honestly, Porsche is on a wave right now that everyone is having a hard time with!

I am not sure why he needed to use the paddles in the Porsche. If he left it in Sport plus, the PDK is pretty telepathic.

I couldn't believe the AMG has that iPad like screen stuck on the dash.

New AMG GT does look great (the rear 3/4 angle looks like a 911!) but in no way do I like it more than the 911 turbo. The turbo still looks much better and more aggressive. As far as rarity, I dont think it will be much more rare than a 911 turbo but thats a moot point. Turbo/S, GT3s and GTS' are quite rare to see from the 911 line.
In the end, the point remains the same. AMG was gunning for the 911 turbo and yet dont deliver by any stretch. The comparison would have been better for the AMG if they used a base 991 or 991S but anything above the AMG is just not going to compete.
