Potentially Stupid Audio Question

Hi All,

So I have an X1 Base Audio (this is the UK base, so basically paper speakers and no amp)

I'm going to upgrade and that will no doubt need to include an amp.

But once the amp is installed and calibrated (DSP side) when it comes to day in day out use can we still use the volume on the existing head to control overall volume, or does there have to be a whole new control system for the amp? Like how stealthy would an upgrade be?

I know that the head only outputs speaker levels and they will have to be converted by the amp, but I don't know if that normalises the signal or you can basically calibrate that signal to drive the loudness from the amp.

Such a basic question, so basic in fact I've not found anywhere to confirm or deny it...

Thanks in advance for any advice

Cheers
Paul
