Power Steering

Hi All,

The longer I drive my X1 118 Sdrive I have noticed the steering isn’t as ‘positive’ or provides as much feed back as my 1 series (which was rear wheel drive). I believe the X1 is electric based where as my 1 Series was servotronic.

When the steering wheel is centred there seems more ‘play’ in turning before you notice any major effect on the steering. Then after about 10 to 15 degrees turn each way, it does seem then to feel heavier. This is with the driving mode set to comfort.

Anyone else notice the same? Why didn’t BMW keep servotronic on the X1?

Thanks
