fuel pump. high pressure versus low pressure?

2016 F48
155k+ miles

I occasionally get engine hesitancy with a cold start. The engine will then die once I put the car in reverse. I can then restart the engine with less hesitancy and reverse back as usual. Symptoms have become more persistent in the cold weather but may be a coincidence. I have also been getting "mixture too lean" and "air mass too high" error codes which may be related to poor fuel delivery to the engine. I suspect a fuel pump is the fault but how can I determine if it is the high-pressure or low-pressure pump that is failing? Or both?

I did the smoke test and noted a part of the intake to be loose. Fixed that. No more obvious leaks w/ repeated smoke test. Still getting the engine code. Any idea?

All new T-MAP, MAP, and MAF

For the engine hesitancy at cold start and dying in reverse (when cold) did you have the software update for this performed? This was a common issue, the software update resolved our issue a few years ago.

Yah know I have no idea. I bought the car with 21k from a non bmw dealership. Is there a way I can use BimmerCode or BimmerLink to find this out?

I am also considering the fuel injectors as a culprit to the error code in addition to the high pressure pump
