Am I the only one surprised iDrive and leather dashboard are still in the standard equipment? And that the roll cage is an option? They threw out the arm rest but left the heavy luxury stuff in the car...
Also, the GTS exterior treatment does not fit the car at all. The E92 wore the wing much much better. This just looks a bit ricey. |

The video is ridiculous. Driving like this will definitely not result in a fast lap.
I don't get the point that a lot of reviewers (on youtube) are just drifting around a track. What is the point to build a fast car and just drift the shit out of it? These cars are designed and build for precision driving, not going around everything like a hoonigan. Engineers spend time in the lab and track over and over again and a lot these guys have no better idea than to drift. Did you see an M GmbH engineer/test driver at the Nürburgring drifting around? No? Me neither! Regarding the car: Two different options to open the door? Now that is innovation! I don't get the point why it has a navigation system instead of an auto AC. But I think you can spec it with AC as well, which I would prefer. Rest of the car is bonkers. Would love to have one, if I could. Will be a future classic, thanks BMW for getting a car which goes back to your roots. Maybe I should thank that 2series Active Tourer money?

Wow, this is a future classic.
Be sure that despite it's high price, it will be in such limited numbers that it will be VERY sought after later on. This is the M boss! Having it next to the E93 GTS it's fades in comparison, very good job BMW. In fact the only odd thing for me is the nav and AC, due to weight savings i thought these features would be deleted. Truely perfection this GTS, and it will be up there next to the E46 CSL!

Since the Baseprise for, lets say Standard M4 is quite different too I doubt it would be so expensive in the US: UK Base M4: 57.055 GBP = 86.596 USD USA BASE M4: 65.400 USD = 43.089,2 GBP So the standard M4 is 33% less expensive then in the UK. The net price before taxes of the GTS is twice as much (112% more expensive then a Base M4). Lets assume they leave out the "limited edition" factor technically the GTS should be priced around 138.648 USD. Since it is faster than a McLaren P12 around the Nordschleife it is still a Bargain. |

OLED tails...
Funny, I was thinking the same thing. I wonder when the OLED's tails will show up in the ETK part catalog. Soon is my guess. OLEDs...

Interested in seeing that 7:28 nurburgring lap video...........unless it's like the A/R Giulia 7:38 video or the McLaren P1 "under" 7:00 video.....
Great advances on the M4.......wonder if the water injection system will be made available to the masses. But with all the "pork" in it like SATNAV and AC....not worthy of the "GTS" badge IMO.

Straps to close the door, pull handle to open them (unlatch).
What is so complicated to figure out ? On the GT3RS, it is the other way around

I love the interior, but have ZERO desire otherwise, for a car of this caliber.
I am proud BMW engineered and built the GTS, however. We need more of these. With less orange wheels. An i8 iteration should have been next. But I guess that's off the table for now (i8S)? |
