Where is the cabin air filter located on the 2011 bmw 335is? Does bmw recommend changing it at a certain mileage?

On the N54, it's on the top of the back part of the engine bay, closest to the window. That long black box thing that goes across the engine bay. There's a few bolts you need to take off to remove the cover and it's right there. I just changed mine a month ago. It actually wasn't that bad. I have 63k on my car.

I want to say that they replace it every Inspection I or II...but honestly I tend to forget about it like most people .

I think I read that you're suppose to change it once a year or 2. But I usually forget about it. Probably changed mine once each in all my cars when I owned. I changed mine on my e93 recently since I was changing my air filter. Unless it smells I think no one really thinks to change it.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think if it gets REAL bad you'll get a SES light. Like I said I'm not positive about that, but I think that's the case. If the dealer won't replace it for you, you can find them pretty much anywhere for $30... give or take a couple bucks.
