Has Any F3x Owner Had A Crank Hub Failure?
An (isolated) issue on the M F80/F82/F83.
Anyone had a first hand experience with a F3x or first hand knowledge of a failure? It’s the same setup on both F8x and F3x |

I know you're looking for people with experience with the issue (not me), but my guess is that you won't find any on the F3x platform. You already know this, but I've only heard of this happening on S55's.
You say same setup, I'm assuming you mean same design not the same crank hub, right?

Wasn't the commonality of the failure 7DCT & modded engines. There was also an after market HUB causing problems. Big flame war with Jason from TPG saying their hubs were OK even though the had a high failure rate.
Had a 7DCT on my Modded N54 with no issues. Lots of speculation on why no Woodruff key on the crank to lock the hub in place. To answer the basic question have never seen a post of an F3X fail. Many happen but does not seem common. Pictures from an old thread Aftermarket TPG hub Factory hub with stress cracks. You have a problem with your car or just interested.

Trying to separate facts from fiction.
More “common” in F8x. Some believe it has to do with higher power yet some stock F8x have had issue. As I have a higher power F3x, I’m doing due diligence. Not trying to duplicate F8x discussion on issue. Looking for person(people) with first hand facts of a F3x issue.
