Hatch Hydraulic Trunk Closer Noise

My hatch hydraulic trunk closer mechanism is making a lot of grinding noise when I open and close the hatchback lid. It is getting louder over time. Anyone encounter this? If so, what is the fix?

Do you mean the lifter or the lock?

My electric lifter is making a slight ratteling sound when opening or closing. Also it sometimes makes a buzzing sound when it closes, and other times it just slams shut with a bang

The lifter not the lock is making the noise. Everything seems to work OK. Just makes noise.
