Reset Service messages X2 M35i

I change my own oil and needed to reset the service light on my X2 M35i. This works with all service lights that can be reset. Here are the steps...

1. With everything off and the key in your pocket press the start/stop button 3 times in succession to bring the system up in diagnostic mode. It takes about 15 -20 seconds to complete loading the diagnostic program.

2. When it looks stable (various warning lights will be displayed) use the BC button on the end of the turn signal to scroll through the different messages (like date, average consumption, range and so on) and continue to scroll until the message display is blank.

3. At this point press and hold the "bump" button for 15 secs located in the lower left side of the instrument panel (The one used to reset the trip odometer) and a service condition is displayed. (It will probably come up with oil service reset displayed).

4. Let go of the “bump” button.

5. Press "bump" button again to scroll through service conditions until the desire condition is displayed.

6. Press and hold "bump" again for 10 seconds until a question "perform reset OK?" comes up. Release the button and press again for 10 secs (to answer yes) to register reset.

7. This system will display a quick reseting process on the screen after which turn off the ignition and then start the car. You are good to go...

This works for a 2022 BMW X2 M35i but will probably work on most late model cars. Fell free to paste to other applicable forums…
