I have well over 100 shirts that I like, I wear & fit me. I have maybe 30-35 pairs of pants & shorts to wear them with because I have a rough time finding pants that fit me

Learned from Albert Einstein, I have many shirts that are the same, and I have many pants that are the same, that way I don't have to think about them and I don't waste brain power trying to decide what to wear. One way to make life simpler.

Well its not a thought thing, I don't have a problem finding what I like to wear in my closet. My problem is finding pants & shorts that fit properly

I used to have a thing for sport coats. I slowly amassed a collection of 30 over the years. Then I took up cycling and lost 80lbs. They all became useless to me so got donated. Now I have 4. Same with polo shirts. Donated at least 50 of them. I have a dozen or so dress shirts that I doubt I'll ever wear after I retire next month. Daily outfit will be jeans or shorts and a tee shirt or polo. Can't wait. Oh, and ties. Don't get me started on ties.
