My new euro plate
I really like the euro plate on the new X1. I think it fills the black area on the front bumper very nicely. So I ordered my custom euro plate and mount. It was slightly painful for me to put screws in the bumper but since it was flat black plastic, I didn't mind too much. I can always remove and easily fill those holes. Anyways, here's a pic.

Euro plate looks right at home there.
Would consider something similar, but here in Washington state not having a valid front plate is illegal. The traffic police really like to have a target for their laser speed detectors and a visible plate for the automated red light cameras. Here the meter maids ticket you if you don't have a valid front plate. |

Well, I think it's because we don't have plates that look anything like that in the U.S. So there is no threat of a counterfeit plate. There are quite a few German cars over here running around with euro plate. My neighbor did ED and decided to leave the German plate on as a sort of trophy.

Looks good. Can you comment on the front bumper height as far as can you pull up to a parking space and there is a concrete bump stop does the front bumper hit first or can you drive in and stop when the front wheels hit?

The bumper seems to be high enough for that not to be a problem. If you have park assist package, there is a feature called auto pdc that comes on when ever you pull into a parking spot and get close to anything. It's probably one of my favorite features as it actively helping me avoid dings without me having to hit the pdc button.

Also, are you saying if I don't order the park assist package my vehicle won't beep beep beep when getting close to objects? I thought that was a standard feature. |

It's not always on it comes on at a certain speed when moving forward and get close to something and when you put the car in reverse. Any other time and you would use the button to activate the system.
