Retrofit full size iDrive controller?

Hey yall..

Has anyone retrofit the larger style iDrive controller? I am looking at diagrams, and cant see the plug on either smaller or larger dial design to see if they will work.

I am working on a technology update in a 2017 X1, new to the family, so 12 inch display, android system, backup camera and more.

Thanks!

I thought about this upgrade when I purchased my X1, and found this video well explained:

It seems there are 2 type of connectors, so if you get the right connector, it should be plug&play. Note that you can upgrade to the bigger iDrive controller, but without touch function. For the touch function, I think that you would need to upgrade your iDrive module too.

At any case, after few time using my iDrive controller, I am quite pleased with it. The feeling when rotating the knob is good, so the point of upgrade to bigger knob is only for aesthetic, and after few time using the smaller knob, I started to like it too.
