I've been getting the coolant light come on my dash now once every 2-3 weeks in the past month & a half in my 2015 X1. I fill it up, then it goes low again. I haven't seen any fluids on the driveway. Does anyone know what it could be & how much?

I think most likely cause is a leak at the water pump. If it's leaking slowly it's likely evaporating, with some residue on the block. This shows the location: https://bmwtechnician.com/2019/01/03...al-water-pump/

This is a pretty common VW thing--not sure how common it is on this engine.

Is your X1 an F48 model or, because you say it’s a 2015 model, an E84? The engines on both versions are quite different, so if yours is the E84 it is best that you submit an enquiry via the E84 forum.

I agree with oakey46, because F48 doesn't have any coolant level sensor, nor coolant light on the dash.
