I can't say based on your VIN. Need to verify if WLAN Port is present.

Either remove Head Unit from Dash and check Label for Wifi Logo or back for WLAN Port, or read with E-Sys and post ENTRYNAV2 HWEL name.

You have ENTRYNAV (ROUTE) Head Unit. CarPlay is not possible.

Hi Shawn. My mate has got a X2 F30 2018 car and we are trying to see if we can activate carplay on it. We tried looking if it is entrynav or nbt but we can't figure out. The version number in maps doesn't say any of these names. E1732C1R that's the only thing we can see. VIN is EB18956. Is there an option of adding carplay?

Recently received my BMW X1 2018. Been doing quite a lot research around the internet and was told by most people that it was either “impossible” to activate carplay or was offered an over $600 aftermarket solution… then I decided to go with Bimmer remote coding and kubax86 's team and it worked like a charm!! Absolutely amazing experience. Recommended 100%. Super helpful and responsive!!

Currently in the process of buying a 2018 X1.

According to mdecoder, the car has S6NW (Telephony With Wireless Charging), S6WD (WLAN Hotspot) and S6UP (Navigation Plus).
The car does not have S6CP (Preparation Apple CarPlay) and CarPlay is not available in the connected drive store.

Nav version: Road Map EUROPE Way 2018-1 J1846D1R

Is it possible to add Carplay? Last 7 digits of VIN (is that what you need?): [...]EG27524

Is it true that the MyBMW app will no longer work after adding CarPlay? Or at least some features like GeoLocation?
Something about Donor VINs? Is there a way to activate CarPlay "properly" for my VIN without sacrificing other features?

New account so not sure if PM is working... Getting a response to know if it's possible or not is enough for now, can work out the details once my PMs are working I guess.

You can have CarPlay. No 6CP just means WLAN Aerial Antennae is not installed. Normally not needed if phone is close to dash, and easily added if needed. If activated with FSC Code instead of Telematic Provisioning, there is no issue associated with using a Donor VIN.

Apparently both bimmer-remote and flashxcode claim that MyBMW will not be working properly after using their service. I guess that means they use Telematic Provisioning then?

Is an FSC Code something that you could provide? Are there any downsides to this, or why aren't the other services (e.g. bimmer-remote) using this method?

Sorry if these are stupid questions, but this will be my first BMW and the learning curve seems pretty steep. Also, I need to up my post count to unlock PMs

FSC Code must be issued by BMW AG for your VIN, and its quite expensive. They can also offer FSC Code, but its costs 3x - 4x times what Provisioning method does, and few are willing to pay that.

Ah, I checked again and found the OEM FSC offering on bimmer-remote.

So using that method I'll get CarPlay while keeping the full features of MyBMW, Connected Drive, .... Just as if the car came with it from the factory (but with slightly less WiFi range as you mentioned in your previous post). For fullscreen I'd probably still need a firmware upgrade first though.

OEM like the one from (bimmer) and then the car is called by some campaign to bmw and they have to update it to a newer version the carplay fsc is lost or with re-encoding carplay it would work again, I understand that the fsc will still be active there ,No?

FSC is not effected by Dealer Programming, however, CarPlay will need to be recoded.
