"Following the eighth round of this year's FIA Formula One World Championship, during which the phenomenon of aerodynamic oscillations ("porpoising") of the new generation of F1 cars, and the effect of this during and after the race on the physical condition of the drivers was once again visible, the FIA, as the governing body of the sport, has decided that, in the interests of the safety, it is necessary to intervene to require that the teams make the necessary adjustments to reduce or to eliminate this phenomenon."

"Mercedes have been vocal in their hopes for the FIA to introduce rules to potentially level the playing field when it came to the cars ‘bouncing’ on the straights, potentially by introducing a minimum ride height to which the teams must run their cars.
But the new technical directive does not account for this, but instead places the responsibility on the teams themselves to eradicate the issue – be it through raising the ride height of their own cars or otherwise."

The title of this video is absurd.

There's going to be a new vertical limit for porpoising. If you breach the limit, you have to increase your ride height by 10mm increments until you're within limits or else you'll be DQd. (This is the general understanding I got from what I've read)

These rules will hurt Mercedes HARD but even more it's going to hurt Ferrari as a championship contender. They still have pretty high porpoising in certain conditions.

RedBull wouldn't be hurt by this rule AT ALL.

Yep! Perfect rule in my opinion.

It protects drivers and the teams who got their design right.

Positive .

It began with HAM's back pain role-play , as we know he's such a good actor .

But the situation turned out otherwise ..And now ,I'm pretty sure that Wolff shot in his own foot

I heard about Piastri, but not the engine change. Glad to see him replace Latifi, that guy is just in the way, and great at bringing out the safety car.

RB got there last year. This year Merc screwed up badly, live with it and get it right. I want to see Merc and Ham competitive but not by slowing down other teams that got it right. This is professional sport stop crying and get to work.

This is as it should be that's always been F1, get it wrong and languish in the back until you figure out.

Only penalize the teams purposely harming their drivers with setup.
Exactly how I thought this should get addressed.

FIA couldn't just set a minimum ride height, when teams have already spent considerable amount of their budgets on parts specifically addressing porpoising.

It's interesting that Driver61 put out this the day before the FIA new rule. I have to give him some credit on coming up with a near identical solution.

i guess we ll see things more likely, a bit more free suspension geometries or mass balanced ones.. active suspension can be also but i dont think we need more weight on cars.. and more technical stuff..
