I also have an Email out to them....
TDI Tuning - Hello. I just received my package via DHL for my BMW X2 M35i, Order #xxxxx. Everything looks in order. However, the pictures (albeit similar B48 engine) are not 'EXACTLY' my 2019 X2 M35i variant (see my engine picture attached) I just want to make sure that the appropriate tune/maps were burned into the unit for a: BMW X2 M35i AWD 302 BHP / 306 PS / 225 KW / 450 NM / 332 LBFT - From 2019 Please advise and thank you! |

Once I get a reply from the email ^^, I'll install it all and 'hide' the brain under the plastic. Looks like I should be able to definitely be stealth with this setup and Bluetooth functionality.

It's evening in the UK, you might have to wait for tomorrow
Interesting that it can do this with only two air pressure sensors, and one cam position. |

Update. Here is where we are at:
Email #2 (follow up to Email #1) TDI-Tuning... Technical support, As a follow up to my last Email, I successfully installed the system into my BMW X2 M35i AWD 302 BHP / 306 PS / 225 KW / 450 NM / 332 LBFT as I ordered it this way. I also installed the Bluetooth Application and have everything up and running. I spent about a half hour driving and validated that the functionality of maps 1-7 do cycle through on the vehicle while watching my Boost Gauge. THERE IS A PROBLEM. Stock Boost is 22.48-22.8 PSI peak readings regularly without the tuning box installed. With the tuning box installed and system OFF, I read 22.6 PSI max boost - which is close enough to Stock Boost peak readings. When I turn the system ON, in Maps 1-7, I have varying boost of 18.1-20.5 PSI peak readings. In other words, the box is working fine, but the MAPS ARE WRONG. I do not have increased power, rather I now have DECREASED power. With that being said, through the iOS application I submitted a request for Map Update and the message said 'No tuning map update required'. For now, the system is turned off until you can come back to me with a solution. Please help. Thank you! |

Oh, BTW - there was no way, without cutting plastic, to hide the Tuning Box. And doing so would change the look of OEM if I removed the device. Therefore, it is what it is.

you mounted it in the same location that i placed my bms unit.
might have to bite the bullet and give ol' bms a try if this company doesn't work out...

If you're reading the value from the car, you are reading the *shifted* boost value that the TDI box has remapped. This type of box intercepts the actual value and changes it, to lie to the engine controller to fool it into producing more boost, etc. So, the engine controller's is (by definition) not accurate! How does the car actually feel? Does your butt dyno tell you it's different? Can you try any 1/4 mile testing? |

Only way to get a true measurement would be the more analog route of a boost tap. Quote:
Any other mods on the car? mechanical or electrical?

Emailing with TDI.
Measurements aside with OBDII and BMW gauge, car is functional but feels slow when unit is on. When off feels peppy again. Counting acceleration similar to get up to speed and location. Dinan just didn't even work. This product seems to. Going to turn off my BMS pedal tuner to see if it helps. Maybe the maps are so good and smooth that the peppy feeling of being thrown back into seat is a false sense of power. Maybe the BMS is part of the problem which I hope so. Fresh start today. Optimism. |

Just got off the phone with Ward @ TDI out of the UK.
Confidence is high that the map I have for this vehicle is right. Going to retest everything tonight with the BMS pedal tuner box off and uninstalled. Going to test harder, longer, faster then I did yesterday. Depending on those results, I'll drop TDI an Email with how things appear and feel and worst case they'll work on a re-map and I can download and install it via their app. I hope that's not the case, hope it's the BMS and/or shitty stock factory mapping where the car is now just smoooooooth with power. Like I said, that's where we are at with optimism. Stay tuned. |

Why wouldn't the OBDII boost specs show 22.8 MAX, while the TDI unit pushes more above it? Why would 22.8 show reduced if the OBDII is 20.xx, would the TDI be adding 5 PSI as an example. I found this: http://www.p3cars.com/bmw/p3-boost-tap-bmw-b48-b58/ But I think it is the wrong MAF sensor shape for the M35i (looking later). Cause honestly, besides a DRAGY or tapped boost gauge, I want 'real' measurements. Last edited by xcelir8bmw; 10-05-2020 at 09:15 AM.. |

Really it should always show under max because mac should be 0 extra. 20.8 would be +2 etc

So in Map 1, I get say 18. 22.8 minus 18 is 4.8. Map 1 is supposed to be low HP.
So in Map 7, I get say 20. 22.8 minus 20 is 2. Map 7 is supposed to be high HP. Can you provide me clarity on your statement? Trying to understand yah. |
