Brake Pad Wear on idrive

I've seen couple of F48 on YouTube having brake pads wear status being shown on iDrive screen. Surprisingly mine does not. It only shows engine oil, vehicle check and so on. Is there any process to unlock this?

Hey

I just asked the same thing in bimmerfest forum

I’m trying to figure out the same thing

Just purchased a 2016....all the display shows is

Engine oil
Brake fluid
Vehicle service

But I see pictures or videos of the the display showing

Front break pads
Rear brake pads

Among other things

If you find out the answer can you post it here

I just posted the same reply on Bimmerfest: No brake pad display in my 2018 X1.

I am interested if anyone knows if there is a way to code it to show up.

Ours doesn't have it either and I'm kind of glad it doesn't - the brake wear status is really inaccurate on my Mini so it's pretty useless.

Looking at the service manual on newtis.info for the F48 it looks like there might be two kinds of brake pad sensors, one where it can be checked and reset through CBS in the car and another where it has to be done with a dealer diagnostic tool.

Bumping this thread as I'm curious about the same thing. My F48 that I bought back in Feb of this year also just shows brake fluid, vehicle check, and oil. I came from an E92 which showed everything from brake pads, state inspection, cabin air filter, etc. I find it strange that only the three items are shown.

I asked this question at my dealership. This is not shown anymore because it was never that accurate. So there are no sensors in the calipers
