Thank you and I really appreciate all the help you are providing, I tried almost everything but nothing seems to want to work, plugging the mirror itself externally everything aside of auto-dimming would work

I came across some people have the same exact issue like mine on another forum https://rb.gy/y27nb

It seems like it would need programming which I attempt with bimmercode but i ended up with front camera error so i reverted everything back from backup and cleared the error codes, in the setup you had it seems the 2 other wire that we add to the mirror, one is 12v and the second is not ground is actually LIN bus communication wire, if you try to wire just the 12v pin along with the gn coming from the 2 original wire of the mirror it will work no issue

I am wondering if I can tap in the high beam camera wire to this Linbus cable to get the autodimming to work, not sure which wire on it to tap in to it if you know would be great will give it a try, as thats the only thing i found to actually deal with the light or even the light sensor

Thanks

PS: do you mind sharing the model number of the one that has the autodimm on/off button maybe thats my only solution

All the homelink mirrors I have installed with an on/off button for the autodim were from other makes, not BMW. I'm pretty sure you'll want to stick with a BMW mirror, as they'll unique from the models used in other makes.

I did a little searching and think this might be worth a try:

Rain sensor;

PIN Type Color
1 + Red/White
2 LIN Violet/Grey
3 Ground Brown/Black

Mirror;

PIN Type Color
3 + Red
6 LIN Black/White
10 Ground Brown

Coding info:

Without VO;

FEM_BODY;
FEM_01 > PfInternalMirror 3120 > ISP_EC = aktiv
FEM_01 > PfInternalMirror 3120 > ISP_KOMPASS = nicht_aktiv
FEM_01 > PfInternalMirror 3120 > LIN_ISP_VERBAUT = aktiv
FEM_01 > PfInternalMirror 3120 > PF_INMI_LIN_VAR = ISP_g_EC

With VO;
FEM with 431 option

After changing my interior mirror to 51162471107 this error shows on ISTA.

Inside mirror: incorrect version installed and
Garage door opener: unexpected LIN-slave.

Do you know how to fix? It will be necessary to change/edit VO?

Mine has:
S302A=Yes
S430A=Yes
S431A=Yes

Maybe add S319A?

I'm pretty sure these errors only exist in ISTA. I assume everything is working correctly.

Either way, you might find this thread helpful:

I believe it will help a lot! I'll take the test over the weekend.

Thanks,

I was able to get the dimming to work, I just want to point something out that the brown cable on the rain sensor is not needed at all actually, instead is the middle violet one to get the autodim function to work

The i Just enabled these
FEM_BODY;
FEM_01 > PfInternalMirror 3120 > ISP_EC = aktiv
FEM_01 > PfInternalMirror 3120 > ISP_KOMPASS = nicht_aktiv
FEM_01 > PfInternalMirror 3120 > LIN_ISP_VERBAUT = aktiv
FEM_01 > PfInternalMirror 3120 > PF_INMI_LIN_VAR = ISP_g_EC

All working now, thanks again

Now there is few things to put in consideration depends on which mirror you will retrofit and what options it come with it and which region otherwise it will give some errors

BDC BODY - >3120 PfInternalMirror

Note - UGDO stands for Universal Garage Door Opener

PF_INMI_LIN_VAR - ISP_G_EC_DWA_UGDO_ECE_IR // the value here should correspond to the retrofitted mirror. Mine is electro cromatic (EC) with alarm LED (DWA), homelink (UGDO) and complies with the Europen frequencies (ECE)

UGDO - aktiv // this is self explanatory

UGDO_COUNTRY - Rest of europe // the value here should correspond to the area where you live. If your country is in the list go ahead and select it, otherwise select more generic area (like in my case)

PF_UGDO_LIN_VAR - ece // the value specifies the region (ECE or US)

Which mirror are you referring to?
The one with the partnumber: 51 16 2 471 107 ?

Thanks for the codes!
