2017 X1 serpentine belt Change

Hello all

2017 X1 Xdrive F48 107,000 miles

Has anyone changed their serpentine belt on their X1 and if so at what mileage should it be changed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated..BMW dealer wants $1700 to do this..Crazy

Thanks

You don't need to change the belt until it is developing cracks and dry rotting. I don't see it happening soon until the car has 100K+ miles and 10+ years old. If it must be replaced, look for an independent shop, should be much cheaper.

Thank you for the response..greatly appreciated

I have 107,000 miles on it right now. I probably should get it checked.

Has anyone here replaced this belt and if so what mileage were you at?

Thank you
joe

Interested in this topic as well. My X1 has about 95k miles and is 7 years old. The belt looks good still but I suspect a refresh is probably in order in the not to distant future.

Has anyone done this job? If so, did you replace the tensioner and other pulleys at the same time?

Since I have turned off the start/stop function there is probably a lot less wear and tear on the belt and related components but I would rather not break down on the highway. interestingly, BMW doesn't mention the belt AT ALL in the maintenance schedule. Not even specifying a visual check!
