Ferrari needs someone with some passion, and love him or hate him, Schumacher has always had that in spades. Plus, I really think he has been itching to race again, but his continued affiliation with Ferrari has made this nearly impossible. This way he can come back for a bit, score some points, and slide back into retirement. To those who think this is unfair to the test drivers, I say give me a break. This is a business and those guys bring nothing to the table.

For F1 this is a huge break. I mean it has already made the exit of BMW from F1 a page two story. If every race he is in does not sell out Ill be surprised. Im just wondering how much my G3 Eau-Rouge tickets are worth now.

All that said. I really hope Massa is able to return. He really deserves a championship, and I honestly think that is playing a large part in Schumachers decision to return.
+1. Perfect!

You have a point there, but I still think it may simply due to the fact that it will be his first race back and people will be curious. However, with Spa's proximity to Germany, I'll bet you a quarter it sells out.

Schumacher will give the other drivers a run for their money! I bet within this 7 races, he'll have Pole victories at least once!

I'm gonna laugh when he Shumi looses (I will also die a bit inside). Similarly to how I laughed and died when Farve played for the Jets, or how Lance Armstrong came in 3rd.

Yea, I think we may be in for a disappointment, not only has he been out of the "circuit", training and gotten older but also the F1 heīs going to be driving is distinctly different in many respects to the last one he rode in 2006, they even still had stability control then. Not to mention the fact that the current Ferrari sucks!!!!! On the other hand, if he produces an unlikely victory or two during the remainder of the year, he will be hailed as the absolute hero of all times. Perhaps, arguably, he is.

Many of you may know due to the testing ban, Ferrari cannot permit Michael to practice in a F60. Currently he is practicing at the Mugello circuit in a '07 F2007. I just read Ferrari asked permission to let Michael practice in a F60. He is also using the simulator to get used to the new steering wheel and controls.

Yes. I agree there is no way to comapre two drivers from two different era. For that matter in any sport it is not a true comparison. Having said that all the pundits agree that Senna is argubaly the best driver.
One thing though Senna never got any favor from FIA

The FIA is the reason Schumacher didn't win in 2005. They changed the tire regulations only to give other teams that used Michelins an advantage.

FIA Let him park the vehicle in the garage and gave him the victory. There are no of times he made more than one move from the starting grid and FIA let him off the hook.....do you want more?
How did FIA favored the rest of the team by changing the tire regulation? By letting both tires they created a healthy competion. Too bad Ferrari had a long term contract...

This is what he wrote on his web site. "On another note, I have to say that today I feel muscles I was not even aware anymore they exist. But then it was clear that you cannot test for a day after such a lot of time without feeling anything, and I am curious to see what will happen in the coming days."

Hopefully the FOTA will let him test the F60. Do any of you here feel it would be fair to let the other teams test their cars if Ferrari gets to?

This is huge gamble for everyone. Just think what could happen if he crashes (which is honestly a real possibility given all of the factors - age, rust, unfamiliarity with car, pressure, etc). Everyone likes to imagine the old warrior coming ouit of retirement to win again, but this isn't golf, football or basketball. There's more at risk than just some points.

You do have a point, but I donīt think he is more dangerous that Takuma Sato.
