What did you do to your F48 today?

I think this forum is missing the “What did you do to your x”-thread and thought I wanted to start one.

I picked up my new Sunset Orange X1 and the very first thing I did at home was to code out the automatic start stop. I will provide more pictures in a separate thread when the weather becomes better.

What did you do?

Two days in the ownership I made the first change. I got the car with style 578 wheels including summer tires. Next to that I ordered black style 566 with winter tires. Turned out that I liked the 566s better than the 578s. So the only thing to do was to switch 8 tires so I could have the 566s with summer tires. Poor tire guy. It took him about 2½ hours of tire joggling.

Is it complicated to code out automatic start-stop?

No, not at all. I use Carly and a Carly OBD2 adapter (can be other adapters as well). It is literally just opening the app, connect to the car and in my case the app even recommended on the front page to disable the start/stop. Else you can navigate through a lot of menus to do many different things.

There is also Bimmercode and eSys to do the same. All in all it took about 5 minutes.

My X1 came without runflats, no spare tire and even no tire repair kit so I added a tire repair kit.

Also I updated the navi maps to 2020-2 today.

Dealer, its a kit but you’ll need a mortgage.

Turns out wouldnt fit mine with MSport brakes so returned and a refund.
