Need assistance with a decision!
Hey guys and gals!
So i have been waiting for an allocation to build an m4 but today got news that it would only be towards the end of the year. The end result is that I am in a bit of a predicament of either waiting it out or have other alternatives available. So without wanting to start any flame wars and up front stating that I have read prior posts, I would love to get your opinions on the following options I have available to me: Option 1: BMW m4 - fully loaded with all extras Option 2: BMW m5 competition - extras: led headlights, soft close, comfort access and active protection Option 3: Nissan 2014 GTR Option 4: Porsche Carrera S - sport chrono and a few other extras Now in saying this, I am not a family man however do enjoy a great sports car. I am looking for something with luxury and decent performance. Any help and/or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

If you don't car about bringing around 3 friends with you then the choice goes down to the gtr or Porsche.
M4 is more of an all around performer than those but gives up some performance. Maybe not much from the Porsche but def from the gtr. So I guess I just narrowed it down to gtr vs m4. Maybe the next poster can narrow it down to the right choice. |

You'll enjoy the latest article on the Evo app: M4 vs. GTR vs. Carrera PDK. It's a good read...the M4 definitely hung with the big boys (which were a minimimal 18,000 English pounds more expensive than the M4). The article has some thoughtful comments on how the cars are different on the road and on the track.

I'd take a 991s over an m3 if I had another car , but not as an only car
And I wouldn't load up either car with a bunch of useless and expensive crap like lane assist or heated rear seats |

Porsche 911S. If you don't need a back seat get the "water beetle".

My take
If you want a car that looks like a bug, and has for the last fifty fucking years and counting, get the Porsche.
If you want opulent luxury and performance, get the M5. If you don't care about refinement that much and can deal with a modest finish but must have performance get the GT-R. If you want the newest technology, incredible performance and decent luxury, but not opulent luxury, get the M4.

+1, GTR is a beast. But based on your comments around luxury + performance it comes down to the P-car and the M4. You're on an M forum, so I'm gonna go with the M!

I was going to go GTR until I realized how crazy it is to spend 110k on a car, but that's me. Surely a pre ordered M4 exists in the SE you could pick up right? Also can we get that link to the EVO site?

I would pick:
Option 1: Porsche Carrera S Option 2: BMW m4 - Option 3: Nissan 2014 GTR I have been waiting for my M4 build for 35 days with another 51 too go and its been hell. And seeing all these videos and reviews (forum) doesn't help. I was thinking of picking up a 2010 GTR then trade it in for the M4. I also spec'ed out a 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera S but I can't justify $110,000 with 400 hp. I WAS on the waiting list for a 2014 911 GT3 and now with the recall its years long and not in the cards. So its a long wait for my Yas Marina Blue with 19" BBS F1 wheels waiting in the garage. Last edited by zosoboogie; 07-11-2014 at 04:08 PM.. |
