That is if you have halogen lights and want to control angel eyes under different settings. For newer vehicles with Xenons or LED's, you use TMS.

Im pretty sure that halogen-equipped X1s don't have angel eyes... would you know how to deactivate the dimming of the angel eyes with the turn signals through coding?

Yeah, the thread i copied that from was from i believe a 5 series with HID/LED lighting with angel eyes. Non halogen.

AW, try to search for those parameters and see what comes up. Hopefully close or similar, if not im gonna do some coding later this week again and ill take a look. Keep us updated.

Yes, it is possible, but changes are done in BDC_Body for default startup mode and ICMQL for enabling driving modes as well as remembering last setting.

First post here.

Just got a 2017 X1 in Canada, all the tech packages including HUD. I have the cable and latest software installed. A bit nervous but I'm going to try one at a time. I have read this and other threads, cheat cheats and even downloaded a Windows app to try to reconcile difference I see. Here's what I've got so far as valid codes for NEW F48. My understanding is that since it was manufactured in November 2016 I can't change the flashing to 5.

THESE ARE NOT TESTED. Just looking to see if they make sense to anyone, and hopefully to help new people. I've also coded some tips I've picked up for newbies. Please feel free to add:

TIPS FOR NEWBIES

1. Use F048 to connect with E-Sys Launcher

2. Select F056 as target when starting connection to car in E-sys.

3. Make sure under E-Sys => Options => Settings => Program tab => Memory Requirement => RAM is set to 1024 or you will likely be unable to read BDC. Do NOT use anything larger than 1024, or E-Sys will be unable to Open, and you will have to reinstall it.

4.In order to avoid any VCM update errors (this does not affect your coding), go to the top of ESYS and click Options > Settings > Options tab. UNCHECK BOTH "Update VCM after TAL execution" and "Update MSM after TAL execution."

5. Don’t EVER code a module folder. That is VO coding and is permanent and can mess things up. Do only FDL coding for now.

6. Do not ever press CODE DEFAULT VALUE.

Can't you just set that from the iDrive menu?

I don't actually have an X1 (X3 and M4), but I hadn't actually thought I could lock the car from the fob with the engine running in the first place. I guess I'll have to re-check this and see if it honks.

I do know that on both of my cars the settings menu in iDrive includes a checkbox for sounding the horn on locking or unlocking.

As far as I know, only chassis with FRM (eg, F010 and F25) have option.

Ah. I suspect I've never locked a car using the remote when the engine is running and hadn't noticed it beeps.

That raises the question of why anyone would ever do that.

I rarely, if ever, do it. But, these are some of the most common reasons:

• Desire to warm up or cool down car while getting ready to leave, but still have it secured
• While quickly running into store, maintain HVAC environment on very hot or cold day for self when return or for pets and family still in vehicle.
• Not allow diesel engine to cool down

Some want horn enabled like alarm chirp or mirrors folded when locking vehicle (ie auditory or visual confirmation). Others want to disable horn so as to not disturb neighbors early in morning or late at night.

Engine off --> lock vehicle --> lights flash & vehicle (with alarm) chirps, if configured in IDrive
Engine off --> lock vehicle --> horn honks (not configured in IDrive)

I think it's just a fancy abbreviation for person. Almaretto I'm sure will chime in with the answer but that my 2 cents. Also just a heads up, this is so the horn won't beep when hitting lock when the car is on and running. Not just regular lock and unlock with the car off.

Mine auto-unfold when I unlock vehicle. If you fold with interior button, then they do not. If not done already, they will auto-unfold when you reach certain distance and speed.
