The first couple of extras that I bought were the rubber boot/trunk mat to go under the dog's bed, and rear rubber mats to protect the carpet from my daughter. And a 12v USB charger to go in the socket at the back of the centre console (facing the rear seats, below the vent).
I've also loaded up a few small USB memory sticks with music, and embedded the album art in each file to make it look pretty on the display Depending on whether you have runflat tyres, or a space saver under the boot floor, you might have some useful storage space there. I have a space saver, and took the jack out of the original packaging as it takes up a massive amount of room. In that space I've now got a bag with the jack, gloves, jump leads, small toolkit, tyre pump etc. I had to buy a key cover as I found on more than one occasion that the button to open the rear boot/trunk lid got pressed accidentally in my pocket. I would look out of the window at home to find the boot wide open... It's worth having a copy of the handbook with you, or on your phone, just in case you need advice on what to do if the key battery goes flat, how to jump start it, how deep you can go in water etc. You never know when you might need some of this info... If you've got the ConnectedDrive package you can sign up on the BMW site and get the app on your phone, and then lookup and send destinations to the satnav. This is a handy feature. |

I bought the genuine BMW one, similar to item 4 in this parts list, although it's a darker brown leather. I like it, but everyone's taste is different
It's not obvious from the photos, but the key case has a small screw that passes through the "eye" of the key, so it's always attached and just swings open when you need access to the buttons. It's not just a friction fit as the pictures might suggest. |

https://www.bavauto.com/bmw-key-fob-...BoCdccQAvD_BwE I bought some off an EBay seller that came in a BMW package (maybe BMW has these made in China?) and look just like these..seller had 3 versions where the small section where the key pivots out were either black, red or blue...so got one of each so wife and I can tell our keys apart..think I paid about $10-15 each...I carry money clip so a key case keeps key from getting scratched.... |
