Stock m3 e92 vs MTM 2010 S4

"The tuners at MTM have begun tweaking the all-new 2010 Audi S4 (B8) in Europe, and as expected, Audi's new supercharged 333-hp 3.0-liter V6 is rife with potential. With only a revised ECU – no underdrive pulley, intake or exhaust mods – MTM was able to coax 430 crank horsepower out of the blown six – 97 hp more than stock.

The kit, which retails for 2,491 euros (around $3,500 USD), brings torque output up to 380 lb-ft and, according to MTM, drops the 0-60 mph time from 5.2 to 4.6 seconds.Clearly, good things are on the way for the BMW 335i fighter, and weexpect more to follow when the new darling of the Euro-tuning scenearrives in the States later this year."

this is no comp for the m3 i think...

it should be rs4-5 vs the m

and this car vs the 335....

oh and believe me a nicely tuned 335 will take this car too spending 1/10th the money of the 3500

M3 definitely. It is RWD so lower drivetrain loss. It has a much superior power-to-weight ratio since the S4 weighs in at a hefty 3900 - 4000 lbs, which is around 300 lbs heavier than the M3.

MTM sells overprice parts..once GIAC, REVO,APR start will probably offer the same performance for about 700$-1000$
I think that the S4 will kill the 135-335
They will be easier to mod also(pulley, boost)
(RS4 MTM supercharger is 20K while the VF is about 8K$)

I would buy an m3 over an S4 anyday of the week

Slightly off topic but interesting that the Audi Q5 concept at a recent motor show featured the S4 3.0L supercharged engine tuned up to 400HP and 400lbft of torque.

This might give a hint of what could be coming with the RS5...

That is a very tricky question to answer, I would reckon the M3 will eventually overhaul the S4 but might take it to about 130~135mph to do it.

In stock form the two match up like this (all times supplied are from Europe where both have been tested)

0-100km/h M3 :4.6s vs 5.0s : S4v6
0-160km/h M3 :10.2s vs 11.5s : S4v6
0-200km/h M3 :15.4s vs 18.6s : S4v6

These times were from one magazine (AMS) to show a fair reference point and Europe's method of testing acceleration times, if you were to take both to a dragstrip and use their method of timing (i.e.1ft rollout) then the M3 will regain the lead a little earlier. But if the surface is less than ideal I would say that the M3 would never regain control of the race.
