why are m3's so amazing?

So I was driving my slightly modded 325i home tonight when I pass an m3. I noticed him coming behind me really fast so I punch it. He stayed behind me for about 10 seconds and then he did a "slingshot" around me like I was standing still. Sadly, I don't have any performance mods. Any ideas? I have about $1,000 to spend and I've read all about the air filters and exhausts on the forum. But does anyone know of something that will truly enhance performance?

a 335i =]

lol nah a 325i wasn't really made for preformence thats why theres a 335i version. Your best bet would be to go forced induction but i really wouldn't mess with forced induction and bmw's lol unless of course its made by bmw...

FI or BUST!

On a serious note, there will always be something faster out there. Appreciate your 325 for what it is. A great sports sedan. You can always buy a ek hatch and swap it with a b16c and smoke 90% of the cars on the road for less then 10g, but whats the point? Theres soo much more to the 3er then just straightline performance.

Not much out there for a huge addition in HP gains for the 325i. The only one i know of is Turner Motorsports. But it costs a grip and will most certainly void the warranty. Also, I don't know anyone here who's done this yet either. Have a look.

Unfortunately there aren't any turbo kits for the N/A cars...at least not yet. It'll be a few years until they develop it since most are working on 335i upgrades.

Your best bet, sell your car and get an M3 or 335i.

The 325 has alot lot of great qualities. Acceleration is not a great strength.
Very few BMW's are real standouts when it comes to 0-60.
There is more to a car than just it's 1/4 ET.
Enjoy your car!

i cant believe no one on this whole forum has done that yet, i think we kinda don't realize what most people pay for hp because of things like proceed but 4k for 50hp is a lot but not unheard of

i think it's cuz alot people are still in their warranty and changing out the manifold and adding a header seems pretty crazy. I don't know how hard it is, but someone has to try it out sooner or later.

He has about 100 hp more than you. Its not a big deal, you get what you pay for.

I totally agree with you. There's always going to be a faster car out there. I mean, if you really wanted to just go fast, you could've gotten an Evo MR or an STi w/ the money you paid for a new e90 325/328.
