Question About to buy F48 X1 20d, any advice?

Hey All,

Never owned a BMW before and currently looking at a 2016 X1 M-sport xDrive 20d, found one that I like with few extra factory options but its on 87000 miles.

Is there anything I should be worried about with the mileage being higher, things to look out for and test/check besides all the usual basic checks?

Are the diesel engines/turbos/auto boxes solid units for high mileage, any common issues I should check out?

I have been doing bit of Googling but if anyone can share any helpful info its muchly appreciated

most common issue is the wear/tear on the brake pads as they generally go out much sooner than other cars. Check to see when brakes were last serviced. Also check the tires - did they ditch the RF (run flats)? If not, you may want to ditch those.

More than likely this had the EGR recall done, so you can bypass that. Some folks have issues with the gear box not fully engaging and the car throwing a rolling error but you can be fixed yourself in a few hours. You can ask if they've had any issues with the gearbox but besides that, nothing major as with any car, you'll have random things fail here & there (my eac sensor failed on my 2016 x1 at only 33k) but just bad luck.
