Overall its ok compared to the other new BMWs. However it looks like a LCI to me, rather than a new model. |

Looks great. Not sure about losing the iDrive wheel, but supposedly the voice commands are much improved and you don’t need it anymore.

If you are a native english speaker (or major language speaker), maybe yes. People from small countries with their own languages, such as me, would not agree Even so (as I fluently speak english), it still takes more time for the voice commands to be processed, than to do it manually with the wheel.

At the end of the day I’m still happy with the ‘21 we acquired, especially at a price point likely $5-7k less than what this new model would run for….but if I was in the market 6+ months from now I’d be encouraged by this update. |

The ID9 displays are bright and vibrant compared to the dark and dingy ID8 displays. The cabin looks more open with more usable space for the driver and front passenger with the new console. The entire interior looks more upscale from the dash to the door panels. I am interested to know what you like about the old interior as I have driven a few of these as loaners and was never impressed.

I like the new look, Interior and Exterior.... I do feel the same about loosing the Idrive scroll wheel, since the voice commands still seem silly imo.
But, after watching the Apple WWDC22 event, I am excited for the compatibility with apple carplay full override.... That large screen is a lot of real estate. Overall I think it looks better the some of the other new designs like the new 7 series . |

The Black trim at the bottom of the car, being so glossy seems to be a bad idea, but the more I look at that front end, the more I like it... Almost Vertical and the grill, even though a bit on the larger side, has really clean lines.

The interior is far more modern and almost Scandinavian in design with the cantilevered console sticking out from in front of the center arm rest. The interior and the doors are a significant upgrade from previous models including the seats. The exterior is stunning especially with the gloss black trim around the wheels and the new grill. The taillights are sculpted and beautiful....nicer than the 2018/2019 model. The overall size is larger too. I hope that they kept the HUD because that to me is a big plus. I don't miss the gear lever and also you can talk to the vehicle so you can specify the controls such as climate...without touching any buttons. i wonder if they kept gesture control? U would like the e hybrid plug in, I heard that with a software upgrade you'll be able to get 100 miles per charge and in that case you would only have to fill up gas once a year if you're an average driver.

The design looks Okay. It reminds me too much of the Atlas. A few apparent flaws:
1. Lack of iDrive controller. You will rely on the touchscreen. I don't like change my sitting position to reach controls particularly when you are driving. 2. Lack of buttons. Again, you will be depending on the touchscreen. Eyes off the road as there's zero tactile feedback. 3. Hazard light button looks to be in a wrong position. I am not sure how likely passenger would accidentally touch it. 4. Lack of storage. The center storage is next to useless. Anything in the open space below is for everyone to see. I am not sure the redesign is good enough for me to move into one. |
