As far as E-sys goes, you're gonna have to wait till someone on here lets you in on more about it. I'm satisfied with Bimmercode for my coding needs so I never bothered with E-sys.

This should help you regarding Bimmercode.

Updated links, since the video is dated and he's using the old adapter.

For BimmerCode, I recommend "ENET cable + Ethernet adapter" rather than the Bluetooth adapter.

Thanks for the recommendations.
I am new to BMW and to BimmerCode.
I saw many use Bluetooth adapter, but I thought it would be better for me to go with the BMDiag Enet Wifi. I believe Wifi is more reliable than Bluetooth.
The adapter I got also has the Ethernet port on it. Now I just need to get the Ethernet adapter for my phone to complete it.

If you got the BMDiag Enet Wifi and believe Wifi is reliable, I don't understand why you want to connect via Ethernet? Sounds like more money and more complications to go wrong. The ENET cable would be simpler if you want Ethernet.

I bought a Vgate iCar2 Wi-Fi and it works well for basic coding. Although I agree wifi is reliable, I make sure I am at a location without wifi interference from other devices and do config backups before coding changes.

You are right, it will add another component. I don't know why I didn't consider the Enet cable + Ethernet adapter when I was looking for it. Perhaps, I was looking for wireless but with the cable option in case I want to go with E-sys.

And because I already have the BM Diag, I don't want to buy the Enet cable plus the adapter. I will probably buy only the adapter tho. Just in case someday I want to do do something more than basic coding. Also, coming from IT, I like to have these components nearby like in the past I had some Etherner PCI cards or USB Wifi Adapter then never used most of them (I didn't buy all of them tho).

I am new to this forum. I just want to do the basic coding on my 16 X1 m sport only and found the Veepeak OBDCheck BLE bluetooth scanner from Amazon.ca for only $40.99 CDN.
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B073XKQQQW
Also look at the YoutTube at this guy descripted step by step instruction.

I think bluetooth is more reliable connection to my iphone than WiFi since my car park out the house.
I am waiting the bluetooth scanner that I ordered from Amazon and start my basic coding for my bmw.

BMW E-sys coding for the f48 x1

Hi!
I own a BMW X1 F48 4/2019, SDrive 18d.
I upgraded the existing 6.5 "display elements and the ID controller with:
- Controller Touch control unit ECE-US 6582 9371374-01 SW: 01.0F.00 25.07.18
- touch controller 6582 9490069-01 SW: 02-0A-01 11/02/2018.
- Central information display 8.8 "TOUCH 65508797400.
Are the elements I listed appropriate for my vehicle due to the fact that the SW versions are from 2018 and the vehicle from 2019?
Everything in the catalog fits, but I'm worried that version 1 and version 2 software are mentioned for the same model, as well as different hardware versions.
I coded everything with Bimmercode and everything works.
I want to permanently with e-sys the car configuration from S6UN to S6UP in VCM (CAFD injection and flashing), the reason is that I want my retrofit to be permanent and to be recognized by a BMW dealer whenever the car ECU software is updated.
How does the CAFD Injection and Flashing coding procedure work?
Thank you.

Hi,
As I already mentioned to your email hardware could be different therefore HWEL won't match. Just stick what you have now.
Changing 6UN to 6UP may couse your car unable to flash by dealer.

Hi!
All parts are according to the catalog for my vehicle and VIN number.
Do you think, for example, that the touch controller 9490069-01 would be inappropriate if a touch controller 9490069-02 was installed at the time of purchase?
I note that I did all the coding with bimmercode and everything works perfectly.

I would just leave it as it is. It's a retrofit anyway.

Hi folks, have been trying to code my 2016 X1 18D Auto so that I don't have to press the brake to start engine, I've searched posts and tried setting TCM_STARTLOCK_BRAKE to nicht_aktiv and also TCM_STARTLOCK_DRIVINGREADINESS but all it does is not allow me to start engine. Have tried 2 presses one long press etc. Does anyone know what else I need to do? I noticed TCM_STARTLOCK_DIESEL and TCM_KL15_OFF_ELECDRRD_OFF but no idea what they are for? Thanks.

Hi
Welcome to the forum.

I will be brutally honest, your post frightens me and you are asking to “brick” your car. I would never go into expert mode and “try out” coding options, 99% of the time they will not do want is wanted and can just be reversed but there is 1% where they can trigger significant issues. A common disaster is to trigger a feature which requires an fsc code, which you will not have and your head unit will lock. I can list many more scenarios, usually people end up begging coders on bimmerfest coding forum to rescue them (which wore thin a few years ago). Stephan Gauch (Bimmercode) started to hide more dangerous parameters lurking in the advanced mode but don’t bank on safety, he posts a disclaimer for a reason

May I kindly suggest that in future you ask if anyone knows a solution before you “bravely go where no....”
One option is to search the expert forum for fdl code changes needed. If that fails you could ask (do not mention Bimmercode unless it is a Bimmercode thread) , give your car model - F48 and HU - yours is probably Entrynav, the reason for detail is it gives the impression you know what you are doing, they will not bother replying otherwise. If you get the answer you may then be able to find the (Fdl) parameters in Bimmercode.

Sorry if this sounds harsh but I am genuinely trying to help.

Hi!
Thanks to everyone who helped me clarify the coding with e-sys for the BMW X1 F48 with 6UNA navigation.
Not to burden some forum members with additional questions I have one question for everyone so let someone answer me.
I realized that my 6UNA configuration was not designed to upgrade a larger display with a touch function as well as a touch controller and that the final CAFD Injection and Flashing encoding would report errors and would not accept encoding. I'm wondering if the FDL encoding (replacement in the SALAPE element 6UN with 6UP + write FA) would be error-free and if that would be enough for the new firmware not to delete those encodings in the service when upgrading the ECU or to give up everything and leave the bimmercode encoding where everything works ok.
Thank you all.

Thanks for your reply, obviously not as easy or risk free as I thought it was reading other online posts, will try what you suggested. Cheers.

Just compare to ECE and code accordingly.

Actual changes depending on hardware.

2018 BMW X1 B48 2 liter xdrive purchased in Feb 2019. I have a local guy that does programming and I did the following:
1. Mirrors closed with Key FOB or convenience access from door handle.
2. Turned off start/stop at engine on. Can turn it on manually.
3. LED Fogs and LED rear tails and turns and front turns (eliminates blinking/strobe)
3. Open or closed all windows and sunroof with key FOB or convenience access from holding door
handle for longer than just to open doors.
4. M power logo at start up including on HUD display.
5. Extra options on the digital display in the dash.
6.Got rid of idrive disclaimer page on start up.
7.Got text messages to show full message rather than 3 lines.
8. Fog lights can now be turned on while park lights on.
9. Changed Angel Eye Brightness when headlamps on to 50%
10. Door handle LEDs light up when engaged in Reverse
11. Fog Lights remain on when high beams are active. Can be turned off manually...
12. Added the vehicle’s current speed to the BC cycle list (Displays on KOMBI screen).
For an extra $500 he installed a pre/mapped/canned ECU stage 1 which added HP and TQ.
I have a BMS intake and he coded it in so that there's no ECU error.
