Thanks so much for this! It was really aggravating me as it's a random occurrence but now I think I can live until the next service

so in the first post, you mention that your army decal won't stick because there is no metal on the back...i had the same issue as i had a metal european country oval plaque (espaņa) and i ran into the same issue, so i bought some 3m double-sided automotive tape and bam! problem solved. you might want to try a bit of that.

I put a tinted plate cover over my plate, I'm going to stick my new Army decal to the top corner. I made an appointment with a nearby dealership to get the Emergency Call thing fixed. I said I would wait, but the lady said, " I know the problem and it takes time, I already have a loaner ready for you." This is my first time ever at this dealership so that's a good sign already.

Kids and dog keeping me busy today but I managed to give the car a polish (Menzerna 3in1) and a quick coat of the new 303 Graphene spray. Smells funny but easy to use.

Got a dog seat cover for the cargo area, will get that installed tomorrow. My husky is upset that the convertible is gone and will probably be more upset once she finds out she's stuck in the back of the X2.

Here's the husky last summer when I went to pickup my son. She's like there's no room for you!

Beautiful husky - great pic - how big is she? I have a Rottie and she's about 95 lbs... wondering if cargo area with seats up will be big enough... any pics of husky in cargo area? Thanks!

She's about 65#. She fits okay. She's not happy about it. She keeps trying to get to the front to her usual seat. She's already tried looking for the top down button and is upset that this isn't a convertible.

This definitely helps! 😃Looks like plenty of room - but I think she enjoyed riding shotgun with you (especially nice in a convertible) 🐶👍🏼 much appreciated!!!

Whew. It's cold out. Installed my Weathertech mats in the front and rear, then installed a rear seat dog cover. She's going nuts being too far away from her human slaves.

Coded the following: (seems like the previous owner did some coding already)
Active Sound Design off
Seat belt reminders off
Auto Start Stop remember last function
Start in SPORT mode
Convenient closing with remote
DRLs rear outer parts
Unlock doors when engine off
Fog lights can stay on with high beams
Door handle lights when in reverse
Hazard lights after emergency braking on
50% max volume (i had this at 70% in my F33)
Tire pressure and temperatures on
Sport displays in red
No warning at startup

It got too code so I quit but I need to go back and look for video in motion.

so far 13 days and 606 miles and growing more in love with the car.

I ordered a spare wheel and tire today. My boss will mount it for me. Going to Harbor Freight to get a scissor jack. The plan is to have the spare if I go on long trips and it'll be nice to have whenever I wear the runflats down and go with goflats like I usually do.

Just remember that only the rear wheels will fit the spare tire.. so if you blow a flat, you'll have to take off the rear first, replace it with the spare, and move that to the blown front.

Thank you for that! I’m headed to HF today to grab a scissor jack. I already have an impact wrench that works great and will keep it with the spare tire. We’re planning on visiting my son at Fort Bragg next month (well not him, going to visit my grandkids really) and I wanted to have something just in case.

Windows tinted: (still trying to find a place that will tint the windshield, my usual guy moved).

(almost) 4 week update. Broke 5k miles this morning on the way home from work. So far so good. Nothing bad to say. It's been great in the snow with the factory tires. I might still get a dedicated snow setup for next winter. I'm definitely getting rid of the runflats once these wear down. I do it with all my BMWs.

Really!? My factory runflats plowed in the lightest snow, and squealed on dry pavement. They are long gone.

Yep, the Continentals cut through our last few snow storms with no issues. it's noisy and I feel every bump like all the runflats I've had. If I get a winter setup this winter, I'll replace these with goflats next spring, haven't decided what to get yet. Should I get car tires or suv tires. I was looking at the Michelin CrossClimate2 or CrossClimate SUV if I skip a snow setup.

I have my spare setup now. Going to get everything setup tomorrow before I head to Fort Bragg to get my grandkids.

I have blotted the brand from my mind, but they were the stock 19 inch "all seasons".

Replaced them with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ in the stock size. They're not full-on snows but they behave well in snow and summer here in New England, plus they ride nicely. I can't be bothered with swapping these days, and I'm satisfied.

hit the big 9k miles.

I got tired of the magnetic phone vent mounts never staying stable so I broke down and bought a Pro Clip mount. It's very solid. It snapped in and locked in tight without me having to use the adhesive strips. I'm finally off this Monday/Tuesday so I am going to attempt some paint correction on this neglected car.

oh, a husky pic as well. lol

My 19 has 30k miles on it. I guess people are buying these as their sports car, which is kinda silly.

I've noticed! This thing is not sporty in the least. It's a fast hatchback and it's how I drive it. I miss my 4 series and convertible. Looking at picking up a 2 series convertible since the puppy misses the convertible as well.

Nah it's just COVID.. I drive less than half as much as usual now.. I think I only have 9000 miles on my car which is very weird.. I should be closer to 24-30K after having the car for over 2 years..

right there with you about not driving I have about 13,000 and I am coming up on 2 years next month. Someone is going to get a great deal on my lease return (of course if used car prices remain this high I might sell it and pocket the difference) pretty close to a wash right now to pay off the lease versus a sale to car max or the like.
