A cool part between shifts it now has an almost gunshot like pop instead of the brappy whoosh when hard on the throttle.

Here's my link. I can say for sure the phone is clipping some background noise. I just plopped my phone on top of the battery tray and gave 'er a bunch of rev's.

Again my complaint is that I can't hear much with the windows up. I can certainly hear it a little better with the windows down, and in parking garages and ramps it echos more. Still it's a big open filter and a metal 1 ft piece of tubing. I think because the entire intake tract is plastic with dampers there's not a lot more that can be made. I kind of hoped the eventuri "vortex" would make some more turbulence sound

I noticed 2 more things. IAT around 94 driving and upto 120 or so idling.

Also seems to hit peak boost fast, even with like quarter throttle. I think it will be a huge benefit with tuning

IAT is inline with stock airbox and snorkel. That's a huge plus compared to the heat soak CTS/DIY system myself and rice_rocket88 installed.

We now need a larger fuel pump to keep up with the intake so we don't lean out our fuel trims.

Cool graph I made this morning with IAT, ambient, boost and speed.

Seems the true temperature effect comes from stopping and going more than speed or boost.

This is a 15 Mile chunk of my commute

Out of curiosity,

Do you think this intake would have any problems In Heavy rain?

I read another post somewhere about an owner who was driving in bad weather and their filter was soaked so just curious about this one.

I realize is sacrilegious but it might not be a terrible idea to put a whole in somewhere in the intake boot before the filter.

I changed the stock box on my e82 to the "oem euro" which can be used on some e9x 28s I believe as well and I recall checking the filter one day and seeing a small pool of water in the bottom and it crossed my mind to put a hole in the bottom of the box. While moving and under presumably positive pressure in the air box it would probably push any water out that has accumulated.

Any intake on this vehicle throws codes when tuned with piggy back. Upgraded filter does not.

Well technically the Eventuri hasn't been tested with the jb4 in combination, it could be possible that the air flow doesn't make the MAF go crazy.. Expensive decision though to both the intake and the JB4 together and finding out one doesn't play well with the other.

I keep getting occasional lean codes but if I tighten everything up it goes away for a few days. I think it's the plastic intake pipe is too rigid.

The intake does have a drain at the end of the snorkel.

I'm usually on the f44 forum. But since this is made for both vehicles. I'll post a picture of what was just released last Wednesday. I placed a order immediately. Burger Motorsports made a intake finally.

You should read the threads with all the intake testing we have done working with the JB4 and Terry at BMS. My comment is backed by facts.

I did read it. I believe this intake with a the billet maf housing will solve the issues you we're facing. I also have the wastegate connector which has a big role into how the jb4 works. This isn't my first rodeo with bmws or modding. 1000hp vet sitting in my garage. Built a single turbo 335i back in 2010 with terry. The main problems you had was the piping diameter you used. That plays a MASSIVE role in maf configuration. When going undersized or over sized with a maf it must be calibrated for such air volume.

I can see that this might change.. I'm not sure how the wastegate connector will help if the MAF was freaking out. Terry had no input other than the intake I had itself was messing with the MAF. I have a perfect diameter piping to the intake snorkel diameter so looking at the design of the BMS intake it really is the same. xcelir8bmw had a slightly smaller diameter piping and that could have possibly been part of the issue.

Either way, if you want to give it a shot with the JB4, by all means I am curious if it will behave!
