Canadians, How long is the wait from Halifax to Toronto?
Hi all,
I ordered my X1 m sport on Dec. 31, 2015. The production week is the 6th week (Feb.). My car arrived in Halifax port on March 1, 2016. Since then, it has stayed at the port awaiting transportation. The ETA was March 16, but I don't know if I could get it by the end of the month. My current lease ends 6th April, but my two front tires are barely okay to meet the return requirement. They are currently at 4/32". Anything below 4/32" would be charged. So I am anxiously expecting my baby to arrive. Any friend from Canada has a timeline for it? I asked my dealership, they said they are not sure when it will arrive. After the car arrived at port, anything is beyond their control. Thanks everybody! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I contacted my sales guy, he said he could not find out where the car actually is nor could BMW Canada. The BMW tracking system is currently down and there has been problems with car sitting in Halifax these days. My lease is ending soon and I was so eager to get my new car. The sales guy said he would try to help me by the end of this week (actually by the end of this month, the ETA on my invoice is March 31, 2016). I will keep you guys updated, and if you get something new, pls let me know. Thanks. Last edited by Jing2016; 03-28-2016 at 08:46 PM.. Reason: updated info. |

Still waiting
I ordered mine in Maple on Jan 12 and it was a February build. I was told it should arrive the last week of March with delivery before the end of the month. But it's March 24th and I haven't heard from the dealership so I'm not so sure that will actually happen.

There is something wrong with cars sitting in Halifax for long time. Mine is also there for 2 weeks now and when i checked with dealer he said still sitting there. I was supposed to get by month end. now he tells 2 week from the time it gets on transport.

Ordered mine January 9th and my invoice says March 31st delivery. I doubt that is going to happen. It is listed as "Delivered From" on the W&W website. Not sure what that means. I keep checking https://www.lhf.com/tracking to see if it has arrived in Toronto.

delivered from Halifax
I think “delivered from Halifax" just means the ship arrived in Halifax and your car was unloaded from the ship. Whether the car could be loaded to a train or direct truck, W&W website will not show.
Here is mine, showing delivered from Halifax on March 3, 2016. I am still waiting and could get no result from https://www.lhf.com/tracking. I called the dealership on Monday (Mar. 21), they said it was still in Halifax. I am not sure if they get the most updated information. I wish my car is currently on a train or truck and I will get it by the end of the month, finger crossed. |

Wow, seems like a big Canadian presence here on the F48 forums...
How are you guys able to track your cars? My sales guy in Vancouver, BC (actually, Brian Jessel in Burnaby) said there's no way for us to track it in Canada but obviously you guys are tracking it! BS from my sales guy? We ordered ours in December 2015 with the understanding that it would go into BJ's Jan 2016 allotment, and car arrived in their depot in Vancouver by around March 7th. I guess we lucked out? (Our 2013 F30, which we custom ordered in August 2012, arrived by mid November 2012. We've ordered from Benz and Audi and had experienced similar timelines.) Hope you get your F48's soon! Fred |

My guess is our X1s are likely on the same train from Halifax assuming they've even left Halifax. Funny how I can track an online purchase easier than a gigantic car. |

Bro, I wanted to cry. A nice friend just checked the CN rail using my VIN, and found out nothing on my VIN. So, probably it is still sitting at the port. It has been sitting there for 28 days till now. If it is the case, month end delivery is impossible. I still get some hope that my car was trucked directly to Toronto without train. But I know the chance could be minimal.:c ry: |

This makes some sense to why this delay is happening. Looks like all deliveries are impacted.
