Distortion from speakers

I'm getting a tinny distortion from my speakers - difficult to pinpoint if it's the speakers themselves or something inside the door vibrating. Anyone else get this?

One thing I hate is distortion from a sound system.
I haven't experienced that problem with my X1, but if it did, I would take it straight to the dealer and get it fixed.

What was your sound source. Radio? Bluetooth?

Any source with a double-bass type sound seems to make it happen... I've had a look on real oem and it seems the speaker covers can be removed without taking the door trim off (that's never a good idea - always end up inducing rattles!)... but I daren't try it myself.

The actual sound is almost like there's tin foil over the speakers - what's weird is it seems like all four doors are doing it - got my head scratching - I'm definitely not going mad though - friends have agreed something isn't right.

I've noticed a few pops or crackles at loud volume but I thought it was bluetooth issue. It didn't sound like normal under-powered distortion. With line in I didn't notice it.

Line in, or USB in?

Mine seems fine, too...although I seem to have lost BMWConnect with the latest iOS upgrade (9.3.1 - just available in the last day or so)
