new x1

hi

I have just got my new x1 2016 2.0 s drive automatic transmission.
the car is very nice and quick but...... I noticed that when coming to stop, while slowing down ,the downshifting is jerky ( from 3 to 1 gear ) and even when driving in traffic jam I can feel the jerky downshift like some one banged me from behind.

is it only software issue or else?

are you fellows familiar with this issue?

Hi and congrats on you new car.
I'm sure your auto transmission shouldn't be jerky. I find it to be exceptionally smooth both shifting up and down the box.
There is a possibility it's software but I would certainly get it checked out. If you get the standard 'They all do that' reply, insist on taking a drive in another car to see how they compare.
Post some pics of you X1 if you get a chance.

Doesn't sound right. Mine downshifts very smoothly. It's not quite so smooth in EcoPro mode (I suspect it doesn't blip the throttle, to save fuel), but nothing like you describe.

You definitely need to speak to your dealer about this.

clearing things out

hi

to clear what I meant,
the only time I feel kind'a bang or jerky is on slowing down on around 12 mph and bellow . The moment I let go of the accelerator ,it feels like the car automatically brakes a little and then I get the feeling of a bang .
try going around at about 12 mph and let go the accelerator . then, continue accelerating little bit like you are at a traffic jam and then let go the accelerator again . see or feel what happens .

promise to upload pic of my car while this week

Mine is very smooth in both Sport and Normal modes
It maybe that the box is trying to understand your driving habits
Best to take it back to your dealer and have it checked out.

My friend, read this thread carefully:

Lots of people are NOT exactly happy about how the gearbox behaves on the X1
