No. It's just a decorative plate. In my state, front plates are not required. So you can put a decorative plate on if you choose to do so.

Good to hear that it your OK and the X1 is fixed
The good news is that as it was only panel damage and not structural so hopefully there should not be any rattles or squeaks that cant be sorted
