X1 Price vs other markets

Delivery for the X1 is going to be this Tuesday, ordered mine with the 3cyl engine hope it will be kind of acceptable to drive and this with the s drive model and adding the sports package and technology package including the prof. Sat nav (excluding the connected drive package which is 1000 euros more) and a moon roof ended up to be just under 40,000 euros. This is not cheap for what I'm getting. So in comparison to other markets and since the 3 cyle. version is not available in some of the continents, I have configured the xdrive 2.5 with the xline package and some gizmos here and there and ended up with a price of 74,000 euros and this is excluding some options that are standard in other markets like automatic tailgate ect.ect.!!!!!!! Is that what everyone is paying!!!!
At least for the local market in greece I think anyone will be crazy to pay that much for this car unless prices or option list are revised!!!

Wow that's almost £58k

I wouldn't pay that for a X1, however saying that I have recently ordered a 20i pretty much fully loaded and that came to £41k (52k Euro). Not sure I should have spent so much on a X1 but I couldn't stop ticking boxes

In Australia, you can expect to buy a fully loaded 25i for around $AUD68k on the road, after discounts. That's about ?50k....and we think we have poor pricing!

A fully fully loaded x25i we are talking around 78,000 euros with avg salaries in greece of 1000 euros a month!!!!! Good luck in achieving good sales at least for the local market.

Why do you need a 25i?
I've ordered an 18i fully loaded for 38k €.
A 25i would be around 55k.
The price difference between the engines is ridiculously huge.

In our market, the 18i is Sdrive (i.e., FWD), whereas the 25i is Xdrive (i.e. AWD). That's a BIG difference to me; I'm not interested In a FWD X1 at all

Still the horse power and/or Xdrive is seriously overpriced in the X1.
If you're complaining about price, for which this topic was started, you can save a lot more money by choosing a cheaper engine than choosing less options.
A 25i with no options at all is still more pricy than an 18i fully loaded. Easy choice if you ask me.
If you're interested in power, and your budget is 78000 I would look at an M3 or something.
But of course... de gustibus non est disputandum.

Actually, FWD vs AWD is a factor of function and capability, not one of taste, and thus the decision process is binary.

Why would anyone considering a X1 buy a M3, not the same class by a long shott. As I said already I wouldn't spend 78,000 on a X1 and I'm not complaining about the price... Just because you have a logical argument for to convince yourself going for a small engine is good for you it doesn't mean others people's logic is the same as yours. Others may prefer power over toys, I personally would not have an 18i or 18d. Saying that I also want the toys, that's why I went for both with a clear budget cut off point

At least where I live I had no option to go for anything above 1.8lts otherwise I will be paying a paying a huge bill on my road tax. Welcome to Europe or at least greece and some other European countries. The only rational choice was the sdrive 18i since no xdrive is avilabe for this engine yet. An Xdrive option is great but honestly 99% of my driving will be around the city and to be honest no one would ever go off-roading with the X1.
Today had to give my e92 320i to the dealer ( in exchange for the X1 that will be delivered tomorrow night) and in return I was given the active tourer 218i for a day. Honestly I'm surprised with the engine it felt more quicker than my old 320i, but have to admit I hated the manual gearbox and the steering is mehhhhh....on the active tourer. I hope the X1 will handle a bit better...
By the way mine is the sdrive 18i with the navi prof.with hud, Sports package, panoramic roof, led adaptive lights. Ended up to be just under 40,000 euros (39,870). Having only those 4 options on a xdrive 20i would, end up to 55,000 euros. That's 15k more... I'm sorry but I would buy a good used car with that extra amount of money.
It's a choice at the end of the day...

In Russia a decently loaded X1 2.0i is about $25k, how do you like that?
(that's with FWD though)

So eventually you chose the same as I
Like I said, 15k extra just for the engine is a ridiculous price. Of course everyone has his own opinion.
Road tax is also one of the reasons I chose the 18i.
