Custom designed spoiler for my F48, what do you guys think?

Hi guys, I have been wanting to custom design and made a spoiler for my F48 X1 for a while and finally got time to model it and 3D print a prototype for test fitting. Looking to make it out of Carbon fibre for the finally product.

what do you guys think of the design?

(included some rendering of the car without spoiler for comparison)

It looks OK to me. I would not fit one, but heh we all have different opinions.

Tastefully done Maybe curve the edge up slightly to add more functional downforce?

Looks awesome man,

Congrats on the project. Will you be selling the 3D printed one? Or at least the data so others can print them?

Have you made spoilers before with CF?

I watched some videos on how they make CF parts and it seems fairly straight forward when you have the right tools

Looks a tad big/long in my opinion. I think they did it really nice on the X2 M35i if you look at that for reference. I would be very curious how to 3d print it and put it together (Our largest one at work can probably do 20 inches max). Dovetail them and melt/glue the pieces?

Looks cool, what we really need is a front lip spoiler and side skirt extensions.

What we will need is something to glue onto the new front grill to make it look reasonable.

Not everyone has an SUV for increased ground clearance.

e.g.; Check out Proper's X1

Wouldn’t it actually make more sense for a car that’s higher to have a spoiler to increase down force? X1 weighs around the same as 3 series and a rear spoiler can help to put more power to the rear wheel. Personally I think it’s more ridiculous adding a spoiler to a car that can’t clear a small speed bump or pot hole and become a snow plower in the winter time 😂

Anyway, I found a nice looking “carbon fiber” spoiler on AliExpress C$ 121.46 48% Off | For BMW X1 spoiler BMW f48 2016 2018 2018 2019 2020 carbon fiber spoiler rear tail Top Wing

Humm....It reminds me of the Honda Civic that we have in the UK.
