My wife finds the standard seats perfectly comfortable. In fact she no longer has back spasms which she did suffer from after just over an hour in our 2004 e class estate.
However, I have still have to find the right driving position on the standard seats. I’m a tadge under 6 ft now that I have aged and 14 stone. The seats are small and need to be slightly larger. |

The sport seats were a requirement for me when shopping for a used X1. I test drove a couple with regular seats and thought they were undersized (I'm a 6'0/160lb guy). I also felt they weren't up to BMW quality - the style immediately reminded me of the seats in my mom's Tucscon, haha.
If you're buying new, the $400 sport seats option seems like a no-brainer. It's actually a super decent price compared to the other options. |

$400 for the Sports Seats in the USA seems very good value, because in the UK they are a £395 (approx US$540) option! My X1 is scheduled for build sometime over the next few days - Week 9 (I hope!).

What are the dimensions of the seat cushions in the regular and sports seat for the usa 2017/2018 x1. I have not sat in the regular seat but can order one for less money.
They cant be smaller than say camry accord etc. The sport seats i sat in felt fine but my lady friend is about 5 feet 5 inches 135 pounds. Her comfort is most important including getting in and out of the car. Any advice. |

I'm 5 foot 9 inches and the standard seats come right up to the back of my knees, so definitely big enough for me. However, if I have the seat too high then they don't feel like they support me well enough so I've lowered the seat a bit and I now find them very comfortable.

My initial impression when I first test drove the X1 was that the standard seats were not very cushy and comfortable. After the test drive, in my mind, I imagined that they were worse than they are. I went for a second test drive and didn’t mind them so much and bought the car. Now, after a few months, I have zero regrets. They are actually excellent seats for long trips and, while they might not be super cushy, it turns out that they are quite practical. Seats in other cars that I’ve ridden in that seemed super comfortable and that have given a wonderful first impression have not always turned out to be great for long rides. It’s the opposite with this car. I imagine that once you get used to them and set them up for your posture that you will have no problem with the standard seats at all. Enjoy!!

400USD for sport seat is a crazy sales. In Hong Kong, it just costs about 5000 USD for sport seat including tax....They requested me to upgrade the dakuta leather (4000 USD) and the sport seat for about 1000 USD...

They were ok until I bought my M240i, after riding in that car I regret the M sport pack... I personally like the look of the xLine more but the M sport Steering wheel and Seats are just so |

The previous car a 2012 R55 Clubman S had the $5K John Cooper Works Recaros in it....Totally miss these... FYI the front seats are used in the 3rd MINIs. So maybe that will open up more options. |

I had standard seats on mine, and didn’t like them initially, but after a couple of enforced long trips I found them very good, and three years on no complaints, so I wouldn’t worry too much.
