I am not sure.

For High Beam Assistant, this is controlled by BDC_BODY > FLA_AKTIVIERUNG, which can be set to LDS_in_A (feature only available with the light switch in position A) or LDS_in_A_oder 2 (feature available with the light switch in position A or II).

There isn't a similar AFS_AKTIVIERUNG parameter for VLD, so it is possible that FLA_AKTIVIERUNG controls the activation of both adaptive features (VLD and HBA), but I have not tried this on my wife's car.

Does anyone know how to activate rear lights to be on all the time? ie. Together with front DRLs.

Thanks!

BDC_BODY > 3064 > MAPPING_TAGFAHRL_1_H_L_OUTPUT > sl_l
BDC_BODY > 3064 > MAPPING_TAGFAHRL_1_H_R_OUTPUT > sl_r
BDC_BODY > 3065 > MAPPING_TAGFAHRL_2_H_L_OUTPUT > sl_2_l
BDC_BODY > 3065 > MAPPING_TAGFAHRL_2_H_R_OUTPUT > sl_2_r

Thanks M-Nick, found those lines now so will give that a go!

Different line for that function than the F30 guides I was using.

You use F056 to start the Esys software (the launch screen) then use F025 to Connect to the car.

This is not right. You select F048 (not F056) as the Car Series in E-Sys Launcher and then F056 (not F025) as the Connection Target in E-Sys.

For those who are interested, with the help of Almaretto I managed to disable Front Collision Warning, Pre-crash and Pedestrian warning in my X1 F048.
I decided to do so after reading several cases of the system inadvertantly kicking-in and braking the car in normal situations.
Notice that once disabled FCW cannot be turned on through the dashboard button.
Here are the parameters.

Module is KAFAS2
Section 3060
FCW_ON_OFF -> FCW_off, Werte=00
PRE_CRASH_ON_OFF -> pre_crash_off, Werte=00

Section 3150
PPP_MANUAL_ACTIVATION_ON_OFF -> Werte=00

Many thanks to Almaretto

If the speed changes to kmh that would be perfect for continental driving.

Just checked, and if you set units to km the speed display in the instrument cluster does read in km/h. The speed displayed when setting cruise control is still in mph, however.

My last car, a VW, had a permanent digital km/h display in the cluster, which was handy, but didn't have any km/h markings on the speedo dial. I always find the useful as a quick distance conversion from miles to km when driving sur le continent.

Its an odd mix. On my recent trip I set the units to kms and had all the speed limit signs changed to kmh, but was still reading mpg and mph in cruise as you said. Other cars I've had have set everything to kph, l/100 etc. Still, it didn't effect the drive experience so I'll just put up with it next time.
