Mine is actually mineral white, which is list price £600, but I didn't pay anything for it. The cream interior is lovely too. I also had the driver's seat raised which has turned out excellent for me, and I've no idea about the hoist at the moment, but it's fitted. It's super comfortable and a joy to drive. (I test drove an M Sport diesel which served the purpose, but this one is exactly right for me.) I couldn't be more pleased.

I just couldn't decide between the X-line and the M Sport, not helped by the garage not having an X-line for me to drive or see!
But I went for the M Sport and had the adaptive suspension as an extra, coz I didn't want the suspension too hard - the main reason I am getting rid of my Golf GTI. However I really liked the stuff the M Sport seats are made of, as I am not a fan of leather - I find it cold on my bum in winter and warm in the summer.

Happy motoring Michael, its been fun catching up and swapping war stories waiting for our cars.

So......

Both ordered on 24th Nov
Both live in West Sussex
Both ordered white X1's
Cars followed each other through the build process
Cars came over on the same ship

Would have got them on the same day but I am now getting mine at 1.30pm on the 1st March - one week today

Spooky

Abh29 Re: raised seat. Not very much I'm afraid. It's probably about 30mm or so elevation equally all around. The work was done prior to delivery at the dealership by an adaptations specialist based in Southampton. They were fitting the boot hoist anyway, so it cost me very little. (I believe it would have been about £100 had I got it done later at home.)
I am about 6' 1" tall, and there is lots of headroom in this car, so certainly no problem there. My Wife is short and has yet to actually drive the car, but my elevated seat looks like it'll be fine for her anyway.

Jeannie333 We collected the car at 1:30pm.
Do you think they might be pining for each other?

How funny is that - lets not tell our spouses, they will get jealous :-)

Hi
Having read about this issue on the forum I thought I would check to see if there had been a recall as I took delivery of my X1 on 30/11/18. Sure enough there is a safety recall on the Gov. website https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/
I contacted the service manager at my dealership and he new nothing about it !!

Wow, that's interesting. My dealer was told (and I believe him) that it wasn't a 'safety' thing (ie it didn't burst into flames!) but the rear light cluster on the X1, X2, 1 & 2 series had been known to fall out!
He thought it was odd that BMW insisted on fixing the issue themselves and would not send them to the dealer to replace. I suppose it could have just been the logistics of sending the parts out, but it does make you wonder, doesn't it?

Does yours require a new housing/cluster or just an extra screw or something. It would be interesting to know.

I suppose the good thing is that it was identified before the car was delivered, because its rubbish when you get a car and (like in your case) within a few months it has a safety recall!

Good luck & hope you are enjoying your new X1
Jean

My car was repaired at the dealership, as I'm sure your car will be Jean. They simply don't have the space at dealers for loads of stuck cars though, so they hold them at the ports.
Their car park was very over crowded yesterday. That's the trouble with having a new March plate; every year you go for a service and can't park!
Seemingly it was only one light, and it was damaged by a miscalibrated robot over-tightening the screws and breaking the plastic.

I haven't had a new plate release date before, my timing was never that good, but I didn't think about being crowded etc., but from what I remember when I had BMW's before, it isn't necessary that you need a service - I am sure mine worked out roughly every 18 months.

My car got released to the dealer all ready to go apparently. But I don't mind who fixed it as long as its all ready to go when I pick him up in 6 days and 2 hours :-)

I'm surprised you are not driving about in this lovely weather, testing yours out. Bet it is raining when I pick mine up on Friday

Thanks for this.

Seems mine needs a recall. FFS.

I'm gonna see if I can get an X2 or X3/5 as a loaner.

Spoke to the dealer and it's a rear light issue like people have mentioned here They need to see if it's actually an affected unit or not. Not sure how they can't track it from production data, but there we go. Can't get me in until April atm...
