My ex didn't even remotely understand a compass. Not a clue. The worst part was she lived on the east coast of Florida near the beach. When I tried to tell her little hints to help remember which direction was which she would get so upset. She knew 10 different ways to get to the mall though.

I remember getting so upset one day because she was driving down a1a (which runs along the water) and she couldn't figure out which way was north.

I've let the directionally challenged dumb me down when giving directions. I used to say head north or turn south on to..... Now i orient my self in their position to tell them left or right etc...

My wife will have nothing of that stigma though. Someone will tell her go down Florida Ave and make a left on Fletcher..... she cuts in and asks, by going down, do you mean heading north or south? i need to know because then i can determine weather or not your "left" means i should head East or West on Fletcher......

This happens once and then people just give her the address.....
