Development Car Needed - F48 X1 xDrive 28i - Dinan Exhaust

Dinan is in need of an F48 X1 xDrive28i for exhaust development. If you want a free exhaust for your car then this is a great opportunity for you.

Would be a short visit only requiring the car for 2-3 days so ideally the car would be local to the southeast (Auburn, AL / Atlanta, GA area).

Given the current environment we would be scheduling the visit for the end of April / early May but that is subject to change depending on the environment at the time.

If interested please email developmentcars@dinancars.com and include your contact information, any modifications done to the car and the last 7 of the VIN and we will respond as soon as we are able.

Wish I lived closer. Hope there is a member that can get this done. If not send me the prototype for fitment.

I'm in Colorado so no go on a test car for me unfortunately, especially since I'd have an extra car to use in the meantime. However, just wanted to say I'm super excited to see how the product turns out. Would love to get my hands on it when you go for the launch, hopefully that's not very far away.

Matter of time til we find one relatively close, it's not like its an uncommon car. You guys represent pretty much the furthest corners from us so it can only get closer from there. =)

for that price you can probably just buy the exhaust after it comes out for less?

Shipping would most likely be in the $2k plus range for an uncovered transport. Exhaust would be worth $1500 or less so would definitely be at a loss. We could sweeten the pot slightly but it would still be a NET loss.

We wouldn't discourage the idea but I have to imagine folks that would need to ship the car, see that math, and still want to ship are few and far between.

I'm in Nashville, gotta imagine someone is closer. Interested but logistics would still be tricky if I need to be around ATL for 2-3 days.

You would think but thus far interested parties have all been in the NE, NW and California. The south might as well be an uninhabited moonscape apparently.

That's good to hear, glad you found someone to help out and I'm sure he'll be happy too. I'm surprised to hear that there is more tweaking to be done though, I really thought it was going to be pretty much a straight shot from the Mini. Either way best of luck and please do let us know about availability, just sold my old Mustang(saying goodbye to my first car ever.. sad) for a dirt bike and the leftover cash is perfect exhaust and tint money. Get one boxed up and ready to ship to Pikes Peak for me

It is more so the xdrive version. I am sure there had to have been some more bends done to go around the rear diff.

Ah that actually makes a whole lot of sense. Totally forgot that anything on this chassis was even offered in a different configuration, even the X1 itself. The pic posted by Dinan that you had linked to looks like hot stuff though, should even still look good on my black car... probably never buying another black car again though haha, it's a lot of work to keep clean, would've been a lot easier back in NY.

Unlike the F54 Clubman version, the X1 exhaust won’t have the option to remote-control the valve. You’ll have to live with the factory actuator to open up under certain conditions or leave it open at all times by modifying it. I was really looking forward to being able to turn up or down the volume with a button.
