BMW X1 engine variants
Hey guys. Coming from my tuned m235i. Looking to add another vehicle to my driveway.
What engine variants come in the X1? I'm aware the n20 and the b48 are variants. What years did the n20 production end with the x1 and when did the b48 engine replace the n20? Also was wondering of any common issues with the b48/X1 ? From my understanding the B series engines seem fairly reliable. Thanks ! |

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_X1 Engine details: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_N20 The b48 engine is fitted to the new model (2nd generation) X1 called the F48. That is based on the UK L2 mini series platform. See... Engine details: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_B48 So it all depends on which year of X1 you are adding to your driveway. See my first link.

Hey guys! I got a BMW X1 bought from America with the B46A20B engine, but I need a new engine after my mom hit the oil pan in rock and drove with 0 oil until it died. According to my BMW repair shop, the replacement engine needs to be B46A20B and nothing else, but I just found a rearended X1 with a working low mileage B48B20A at a really nice price.
Do you think the two engines are interchangable? |
