Returning lease X2 -BimmerCode Question

So I have to return my X2 next week to the dealer, and I’ve done 10 or so Bimcode changes, I don’t feel like going back and changing them all…. can a dealer just hook up to their computer and reset everything conveniently to the Bmw default mode?

Short answer yes if they even notice expect a charge if they do it. On the other hand if you haven't updated the software in a while they may do it anyway and that should blow out all the changes. Remember to delete all the phones and reset the home link (not that I have ever done that)

Hope you enjoyed the car, what's next in the driveway

Probably a 228i GC M Sport….Tired of SUV's , and I really like the lines of the 2 ser sedan…

I haven’t done an update on the X2 since I got it in 21, so I’m sure they will do one that will reset everything… Thanks for the info.

And I haven’t looked lately, but isn’t there a “reset to factory defaults” that will wipe out all my connections, phones, presets, etc.? In other words, take me completely out of the car?

The first time you use Bimmercode, it takes a backup of the car codings which you can restore. In fact, this is required to reverse certain ones. But yeah, a dealer software upgrade will do the same.

All good, I went back in with BimmerCode and just changed the most important ones back to stock.

I was able to delete all my user data. The iDrive settings are:

my vehicle—> iDrive settings —>data privacy—> delete all personal data —>confirm

Then exit the car, lock the door and wait at least 15 min….done, this wipes only things like your recent destinations, home address, address book, etc. ….it’s still leaves things like your SiriusXM subscription completely intact and working.
