How Accurate is the TPMS?
How accurate do you think the X2 TPMS is? The car told me my tires were down to 34 PSI. I used two different tire gauges (granted, both of them cheap ones) and got three different readings between the two gauges and the TPMS, by as much as 4 PSI. Should I rely on the TPMS or the gauges? Just curious. Thanks.

Mine is within 1 PSI too compared to my digital gauge and the gauge on the Ryobi air pump.

How often do you recheck the calibrated one?

I can only add that my two BMW's are about 1-2 psi off from a digital and regular gauge. My 340 seems 2 off and my X1 seems 1 off. I would say my gauges are on the better end. Now our van seems spot on.

I have a good quality analog gauge. I find that the TPMS reads 1-2 degrees lower than my gauge.

...and when was it calibrated? You do not know which one is giving the correct reading! It could be either.

I bought a new TPMS set for my winter wheels. I put them on last weekend and all 4 read 1 psi lower than my gauge.
What I also noticed on 1 wheel is the pressure shown in the tire pressure menu read 35, but it was 36 in the sport display of the car status. They both had the same temperature tho. |
