Thanks for the photos and congrats @F39M35i - especially the interior shots of the fineline wood trim - it looks shinier than I expected. Is it really as glossy as it looks in the photo? Deposit placed on my M35 and I am awaiting final confirmation on dealer allocation and an order number, so I still have a little time to change my mind if I want - wondering if I will be happier with the aluminum trim.
Otherwise - thanks for your photos - it does look great in white!

I did the black piano gloss, looks great to me, the boss suggested it and I had no strong opinion, she also did not like the aluminum. Now if the CF trim was available to order, that might have changed things, xcelir8bmw your trim looks amazing. I uploaded pictures in my album, you can see the trim in one of them

Is the steering any better than the X2 2.8? We have an X1 in the family and it is a great car but the steering is bad. Relatively high effort but no feedback at all. I have driven X2's and steering didn't feel much different. I also have a 2014 228 M Sport which has great steering in comparison.

I personally think the steering is not the best and would say it's not any different than the X1. The fwd bias is also felt on accelerating turns from a stop.

I'm in the same boat as you. When do you expect to hear about your dealer's allocation? TIA.

I wouldn’t consider the steering ‘high effort’ though.

The X1 has relatively high effort but completely artificial steering and the X2 I drove felt similar last year. My 228 is lower effort but actually has some feeling to it in comparison.

Finally got confirmation this week of an order number. I was getting a little aggravated as it had been 6 weeks since I left a deposit, but good news is that I'm getting a 2020 model at least. Production scheduled for first week of July. You receive any update yet?

Not a high res pic, but here's my misano blue with 35% tinted front windows. I only realized this past week my arm is getting rather tanned so I booked my apt to get some UV blocking done

Yes. I got a Production Number today, but I'm not sure if it has been scheduled. How did you know that yours is for the first week of July?

My dealer told me it was scheduled for first week of July, and if you look at the X2 2020 pricing/ordering guides posted in the top sticky of this forum group, it shows SOP of 07/19 (which I assume means Start of Production).

Now that we have order numbers, its best to follow it along in your garage on the BMW owners website - it actually shows pretty detailed tracking of your order; mine currently shows "Scheduled for Production" and next step is "Production Begins"!

Is that the max % allowed here in Massachusetts?

Ah, thanks for the tip. Mine also says "Scheduled for Production".

Even though I know it won't start to move until sometime in July, I still check the site every 3 days or so. LOL

How are you dealing with the wait?

I'm not a very patient person, so the waiting is driving me nuts! This is only the second time I have ordered a car - I'm generally used to the instant satisfaction of a car purchase. But - considering what I am spending, could not skimp on the features that matter to me most (mainly the ACC). Luckily I have a few business trips coming up to distract me!
