  • Adaptive headlights: The "LED headlights with extended features" on the X1 support what BMW calls Static adaptive headlights:
At speeds between 45 km/h and 70 km/h the cornering light is used as a "static Adaptive Headlight". The LEDs, which are responsible for the cornering light, are activated in order to illuminate the cornering area. This function is called a static Adaptive Headlight because the headlight is not moved.
This is disabled by default on US cars to comply with outdated US regulations. It is nowhere as useful as the no-dazzle high beams on my M4, but still worth enabling IMO. To be clear: this is different from the cornering lights functionality, since the cornering lights are activated even when the car is not cornering in order to provide a wider illumination of the road.
  • Brighter halos: The halos in the headlights are dimmed by default to 46% on both US and EU cars when used as position lights (i.e., when the low beams are on). They did not look as bright as on my M4, so I increased the intensity to 70%.
  • Allow fog lights on with high beams: This is standard on EU cars, but disabled on US cars.
  • Close trunk with keyfob: This is disabled on US cars and requires keeping the button on the remote pressed on EU cars. I coded it so that it opens with a single press of the remote button.
  • Unlock doors at ignition off: This is disabled on US cars and it only works on EU cars if the doors were automatically locked. I coded it so that the doors always unlock.
  • Change speed limit information in HUD and instrument cluster: I really dislike the US white square sign and changed it to EU display.
  • Standard stuff: Remove iDrive legal disclaimer, shorter seat belt reminder, etc.
Hi dmnc02,

Can u let me know the settings for the following as described:
1. Change speed limit information in HUD and instrument cluster
2. Adaptive headlights for 45km/hr - 70km/hr
3. For the door unlock as per post#44 please confirm if following is true:

BDC_BODY > 3041 CLIntegration> CLI_DEFAULT_UNLOCK_AFTER_END_OF_DRIVING -> aktiv

Hi guys...

I have successfully coded the "Video from USB", and I could see the option More Media/Video on iDrive.

However, iDrive could not find any vidoe file to play, eventhough I have a few .xvid and .mkv video files on the USB Flash drive. .flac music files play ok as per usual.

Has anyone successfully played any video files on USB Flash drive at all after coding?

Will be taking delivery of my F48 X1 20d m sport auto in June. I didn't add on the enhanced Bluetooth pack but in my current 1S I use the text message reading function on my iDrive. Is there a way of coding this to enable it or does it require the full enhanced Bluetooth pack? Thanks

After reading through other threads, the conclusion is that our F48 iDrive (HU_EntryNav) does NOT support Video on USB.

eBay - just get the cheapest ENET cable you can find. Mine was about $15 AUD, works fine on the F48. Don't need any software discs that it might come with. It's only a simple ethernet cable that has a different plug at one end.

dmnc02 I just tried coding my wife's f48 and got a bunch of errors after reading coding data.

I used f056 to connect and f056 as a target. I also tried f025 target. In case anyone understands, here's the error list:

I think you need a newer version of the PSdZData files.
What version are you using?

How do you update PSdZData? I just got 58.3, by the way.

* Extract the PSdZData_Lite or PSdZData_Full .rar archive to produce the "psdzdata" folder.

* Make sure that there is an empty "dist" folder in each of the psdzdata chassis folders, and if missing, create as needed, e.g.:
⦁ C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\F001\F001_xx_xx_xxx\od x\dist
⦁ C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\F010\F010_xx_xx_xxx\od x\dist
⦁ C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\F020\F020_xx_xx_xxx\od x\dist
⦁ C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\F025\F025_xx_xx_xxx\od x\dist
⦁ C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\F056\F056_xx_xx_xxx\od x\dist
⦁ C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\I001\I001_xx_xx_xxx\od x\dist
⦁ C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\K001\K001_xx_xx_xxx\od x\dist
⦁ C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\KE01\KE01_xx_xx_xxx\od x\dist
⦁ C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\RR01\RR01_xx_xx_xxx\od x\dist
⦁ C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\S15A\S15A_xx_xx_xxx\od x\dist

* If existing "psdzdata" folder exists in "C:\Data\" (i.e. "C:\Data\psdzdata") DELETE it.

* From the PSdZData_Lite or PSdZData_Full extraction, copy the "psdzdata" folder to "C:\Data\" (i.e. "C:\Data\psdzdata")

* NOTE: If upgrading from a previous PSdZData version, DELETE old PSdZData folder and REPLACE with new PSdZData folder (DO NOT copy
(merge) new PSdZData folder on on top of old PSdZData folder).
* NOTE: PSdZData Lite Version has all ECU Firmware files removed, which are needed only for flashing new firmware onto EC

I had similar reading errors at one point. This was solved by:

- Using F048 to connect with E-Sys Launcher
- Selecting F056 as target when starting connection to car.

I was using F056 for both which was the problem.

These worked for me:

BDC:

Turn off MMI when door is opened:
3020>TCM_LOGIC_R_OFF_DOOR = active 01

Change Triple-Blink Count to another Value:
3068>BLINKZYKLEN_ANZAHL_TIPP – Werte = # blinks-1 (4 blinks = werte=3)

Turn on Brake Force Flashing with Hard Braking: 3068>ESS_AKTIVIERBARER_AUSGANG = bremsclicht blinked

Enable Illumination of Exterior Door Handle LEDs when in Reverse 3070>OVT_BEI_REUCKFAHRLICHT set to: activ

Unlock Door on Engine OFF (1 pull):
CLI_DEFAULT_UNLOCK_AFTER_END_OF_DRIVING set to: activ

  1. KAFAS > COUNTRY_CODING_DISPLAY = ECE_white.
  2. This is a long coding: I will post instructions at some point.
  3. That works.

Right now the adaptive feature only works when the light switch is set to automatic (one click to the left of "off"). Is there a way to enable the feature when the switch is placed on regular main beam position (two clicks to the right of "off")?
