It's understandable though. Think about it, if you're an M owner and have been looking forward to the next generation for awhile....been promised that it will re-define the market and then after all that time discover that eh, it's not quite all that. Tough to let go after emotionally investing so much.
I get why the CL peeps are hanging on to it. Besides, ultimately it may still be the best Lexus. Not the best in the market, but hell, the best Lexus and that may be the most important thing of all (to them). |

There is no doubt they have some blinders on because they were told they were getting an M3 killer....and they didn't. But, as Lexus enthusiasts, they are likely going to try to salvage what the can from it and, if you like Lexi, you'll choose it as the best option.

toyota will not invest serious Money into pure sports car. they are all about mass market money generators. just look at how rcf chassis been put together.. no vompany in their right mind will put 3 existing heavy chassis put into one body, then call it their next new best sports car. its all about saving dollars and put some new software into to sell to small lexus fan groups.. just enough to get em excited..

But I don't agree with this. What about the LFA? and the upcoming BMW/Toyota Supra successor? The toyobaru? |

all im saying is toyota is more focused in generating easy cash in sports car market. same as honda. bringing out some shitty 125hp hybrid and calling it true sports hybrid.. makes me miss those days of s2k.. |

Why is this not posted at CL?
That forum is like a cult. Any deviation from Lexus worship brings the ban hammer down quick. Fanboys are everywhere. But at least here it seems many members are car enthusiast first, brand loyalty a (close) second.

That's depends on what you are looking for in a car. If you're looking for a large displacement great sounding NA V8 in a modern good looking ( subjective) GT car that will be reliable and turn heads then this car fits the bill.
While it doesn't perform like an F8x it has a lot of other redeeming qualities that betters the F8x in some areas. If performance is not your top priority it's other qualities will make it a better choice for some people.

If that was my goal for a car. I would get the RS5, get the added benefits of awd during inclement weather. Even with awd, it is still lighter than the RC-F. Dual clutch is a bonus too.

Meanwhile at Club Lexus:
"M4 sounds like sh*t" "RCF feels light, actual weight is irrelevant" "Did I mention the M4 sounds like sh*t" "Hurr durr M4 has sh*t ride quality" "Those things will go into limp mode on a track!" Those guys will do literally anything to devalue the M3/M4 lol. Lexus must have known that fractions of RCFs sold would see track use, otherwise they would've made at least some effort to lighten the load.

I'm only playing Devils advocate - I prefer the looks of the F8X but some will prefer the Lexus. Looks as we know are subjective. I'm disappointed they didn't make it lighter but I do applaud them for sticking with a high displacement NA engine when all of their competitors have opted for easy economical power with forced induction.

Its either M4 or RS5... To choice the RC F would be just settling. |

I went and saw the RC F yesterday at the local dealer. Sat in it and all. Some of the parts are a bit cheap, thin non soft plastics for switch gear. Absolutely NO back seat room.. (as the wheel base is so much shorter). The engine bay was beautiful. Ugly rims, not a fan of the styling over all. Seats were very good, lots of bolstering.
The car is actually a lot more expensive than the M4 once you add carbon fiber to even the options. Not sure why people think its cheaper, its not at all. I'm still glad they made this car as competition is good for the M4. |
